It may have escaped your attention that 'US' and 'Sweden' are pronounced and spelled completely differently. This is like being bullied at work and then going home to beat on the wife and kids . The Swedes have given nothing but love to those ingrates.

It's been used as a mode of attack in the Middle East and on Israel for a while. It was recommended by what's-his-name who issues the instructions to ISIS 'fighters'. The other one that has stuck in my head since I first read those instructions, was the poisoning of water supplies and, I think, food.

yep . never saw whatever it was. However I'm not on a Terror attack in Sweden thread in order to discuss who was better than whom in the 'troubles' . Thats a mugs game and extremely counterproductive now that the Good Friday Agreement is in place and the institutions are embedded.

I'm in Stockholm now, just arrived for the weekend. Got the news on the train on the way from the airport. Our hotel is right beside where it happened. Lots of understandably upset people, huge amount of armed police. We've been advised to stay inside the hotel until the all clear is given.

Of all the Countries Sweden do not deserve this.

They have welcomed people and look what is happening. Yes its only 3-5 people of 8+ million, but this is the beginning, this will create division and will put the 50/50 people now to one side firmly.

If the Stockholm Police are seeking additional suspects or accomplices, lets hope they jettison this sort of idiocy as a matter of urgency.

Swedish police will no longer be able to give descriptions of alleged criminals for fear of being seen as racist.

According to an internal letter, police in capital city Stockholm are instructed to refrain from describing suspects' race and nationality, according to news website Speisa.

Local newspaper Svenska Dagbadet reported it had seen the letter, which it said outlined how officers should now notify the public of crimes.

The crimes involve everything from lighter traffic accidents to serious crimes like muggings, beatings and murder, the paper reported.

Confirmed that the truck was hijacked earlier in the day. Same as the Berlin attack. Is there any way around this? all drivers fitted with personal panic alarms to help in the early detection of hijackings or the like?

You could have GPS and locked in route planning on all trucks. Any significant deviation from a route that isn't cleared by a third party triggers an alarm. Doesn't stop someone from hijacking a smaller vehicle though.
