Will just a normal music cd work or would i need to burn a cd with some type of video on it?

Question though, at the moment my RP3 is running Retropie, how can I integrate ARpiCADE into the set up, or am I doomed?

You can run retropie with the Jamma-pi hardware, the ArpiCade software is just raspbian OS booting straight into Attract-mode front-end at 240p(switchable) resolution which a load of custom scripts, you can pretty much run anything on the pi as long as the resolution of your monitor supports it, things are kinda flickery on 15khz though outside of attract-mode. Although I assume you can fix this lowering the resolution from 480 to 240 if that's possible in retropi, I don't know.

I have mine directly hooked up to the VGA monitor in my Atomiswave cab, it's a tri-sync so it should be fine.
I might give it a whirl on my new RP0, try not to kill anything important.

Bit of afternoon cringe courtesy of The Telegraph.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2016/05/14/retro-tech-worth-thousands-on-ebay/pink-game-boy-advance/

Original GBA casually mentioned as maybe being worth £1000.

Lol! Sweet, just bought one today for a 10r.

What is their reasoning for the pink one being worth this amount?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

They probably looked on Ebay and saw someone looking for that amount for one.

    Y'know, research.

Aye, It's not stated, but I'm assuming they're not coming from sold listings, and if they are, the words "VGA rated" and "fool" are likely to be involved somewhere.

Edit: just re-read the article and saw that it's been "refurbished" which either means it's an optimistic mod or one of those Chinese rom-dump clone systems.

Don't know if this is the wrong place or not, but I recently found my old Nintendo GameCube, and I'm looking to purchase a few games for it. Where is the best place to purchase them? Also, I've a few games that, I think, might be rare enough. Some of them are- Mario Kart:Double Dash (red case), Gotcha Force, Luigi's mansion, Wind Waker, Pokémon XD. Any of them worth anything? All kept near perfect condition, unsealed though.

    Appreciate any info.

Some good games there , try adverts and ebay for games you can pick some up at ok prices if you look long enough.
You can also put up a wanted add in the Arcade & Retro marketplace for the games your looking for.

What would be the average price? Looking at picking up Digimon: Rumble Arena 2 (had it on the Xbox when I was younger). I seen one for €40, but not sure if that's a decent price on it or not.

€30 would be more of an average price €40 seems on the top end. If your not in a hurry make a wanted add on here and adverts and also set up a watchlist for the game on ebay, you will more than likely get it for less than €40 if you not in a rush.

Ah, nice one. Thanks for the info!

Think I've linked this somewhere before, so apologies if it was here. A free ebook about the making of the R-Type port for the Spectrum.

It's behind you: the making of a computer game by Bob Pape.

    http://bizzley.com/

Quite a niche subject, but an interesting read none the less, and he doesn't drown the non technically minded too much in jargon. Nice little interview with him here too if anyone wants a quick read:

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

    Everyone, this is major.

The greatest fan translation project ever has been release.

Super Mario Bros is now available in Esperanto.

I remember when I was about 15 years old I was in a McDonalds on O'Connell street with some friends and a man criticised us for our use of the English language and he said he was better person because he could speak Esperanto. I've f*cking hated the language ever since that day.

Battlezone for PSVR released an update 2 days ago which adds a classic mode among others,

So now you can play in the original Battlezone Universe in VR!

Although going by the video underneath it may have been in a previous update, so I'm no sure!

So... anyone unfortunate enough to go to Gamercon ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,991 ✭✭✭Inviere

I see external storage support (usb hdd's) has arrived for the latest HenKaku hack for the Vita TV thingy. Might actually pick one up given that, and say bye bye to overpriced proprietary memory cards. Only for firmware 3.60 though, any higher & you're outta luck.

    Yar, & all that...

Not sure what is gaining the most irate posts, the Gamercon or those who are using it as an opportunity to generate upset in the Games/Afterhours forums.

But I avoided it myself, though Cidonalad wanted to go initially.

I avoided it thinking Dublin would be very busy and I have Kaizoku soon too. I really didn't imagine it would be this bad, it's even on Kotaku now.
Saw some friends I know from other cons going, two got in and others gave up. I'm heart broken for the kids.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,729 ✭✭✭The Last Bandit

Friend of mine went with his kids, got in after an hour but very disappointed with the whole thing. It's a shame really as reduces the chances of similar events in the future :(

Looks great. I'll keep the PSTV a 3.60 in case any interesting fan translanslation happen and keep my vita updated for all my PSN games.

Yeah just ordered a very cheap & brand new one on fw 3.20 on ebay. I can see these becoming a nice little device to have now that it's been hacked, once paired with a usb hdd & a ds4 :)

Myself and a friend were debating would we make the trip up for it, ended up leaving it off. Glad we did now. Sounded like an awful mess. Even disregarding the problem with tickets and queues, it just didnt sound particularly interesting.
Anyone know what the retro section was like?

The Retro section was decentish, just a load of N64's Snes', Nes', Dreamcast etc set up playing classic games. No Atari though :(

The main problem was no real way of getting in line to have a go of any of the games, you just stood behind someone until they got bored and got up.

The whole thing had a cattle mart feel to it.

At least we got in easy enough and the young lad enjoyed the whole day, meeting Little Kelly and getting a picture and autograph, playing a bit of Minecraft.

Really felt for the people stuck outside all day, buying a VIP ticket was a godsend to get in.
