If you were a woman for a day, what would you do...that's a belter of a question!

    They're a great pair

    Great save too!

    "I'd check out the equipment"
    "........ Like makeup and stuff?"

I hate people who sing a song waaaaayyyyy slower than it should be sung.

    Makes Red Kev angry.

I don't like to be harsh on anyone on it but I can't help feeling that if I was as well travelled as Micheal, I wouldn't be singing Danny Boy as my party piece unless I'd sang the life put of it everywhere on my travels, in which case no one is a winner.

But I wonder how I'd have fared on First Dates and I'd probably be critical of me as an observer :)

He really shouldn't have compared himself to Johnny cash.

As others have said, it really wasn't necessary for Paula to go in to such detail about how she didn't like Aoife. In private it'd be fine, on camera when you knew it's going to be broadcasted on TV? No.

Really disappointed Shane and Adam didn't work out, they were very cute.

Oh and completely off-topic and irrelevant, but my god that waitress Alice is gorgeous.

I got accepted on the show.

The confirmation email sets out youll be a background dater and pay for your own meal but when you read the fine print they can film and broadcast etc so most people think they are background daters and dont know they are being filmed.

Obviously they then just pick the weirdos from the background daters.

So they exploit you and dont even buy you dinner. I turned it down then.

To be fair you applied to be on the show, you didn't apply for a free dinner. If you want to go on the show for whatever reason that's up to you, but don't expect to be treated like you're doing them a favour, there'll be plenty of people willing to go on there for free, and you can't really complain about being filmed after you put yourself forward for it.

I don't mean to sound harsh but that's the way it is.

To be fair, the production company need to fill the restaurant with diners so that there is a bit of atmosphere during filming. I don't think it's unreasonable for 'background diners' to expect some token gesture in return - a contribution towards the meal/a bottle of wine or some cocktails.

Relatives of mine were background diners in 'The Restaurant' when it was being filmed in the Wineport Lodge, their meal was free of charge.

I get the impression is that they're all told they're background diners but they are all filmed and the best viewing makes it to the screens. So it's not like people are necessarily put in as extras at the start.

That's what I took the post to describe anywau

I think you're mistaken here. Sure, they can film and broadcast you, that's television, but the ones who actually feature on the show are very obviously decided upon in advance; they're wired for sound, either by radio mics or boom mics.

The Sligo lad talking himself down begins to wear thin after 5 minutes.

My heart goes out to the first young guy, would love to reassure him that it all gets better as you get older and less self conscious! Fair balls to him for going on the programme though.
