Eagles cut Chase Daniels. 7m in dead money. Although there's offset language in contract, so Eagles will get back whatever another team signs him for (Although won't count til next year, I believe).
Eagles are the worst in the league for cap space too

Guys looking at that am i wrong in saying cutting Daniels puts them over the cap at present?? Thats about $10m in dead money they'll be carrying for Bradford and Daniels.

They've made a seriously horlicks off their cap on QB's in recent years!! Chip kelly wha....

Now i know that OTC is generally a few days behind on things as they're showing us (Cowboys) with space 8.3m but we've Paea and Moore to go on that (williams and Carroll have been included), small money but we'd be due another $5 in space with Free retiring.

They where above the cap before they ever cut him. That's likley Dorian green beckham, kelce,Kendricks and mane even Jason peters gone to make up for it unless Daniels gets signed to a big deal. The fact that a team with a rookie wage starting qb is in this situation is a joke

Thanks to chip Kelly for making it slightly easier on the cowboys to win NFC east...

What was Kelly's roll in the Daniels ridiculous contract or Bradford's big extension prior to shipping all the picks for Wentz? Also, given that they received a 1st for Bradford last year you could argue the trade the year before was decent value.

Kelly has a lot of areas where blame can be pointed at him but I don't think he can take the main blame for the QB cap issues.

Chips not really to blame for the current cap situation he ruined a fantastic offence but most of the guys he brought in in free agency where quality players

Malcom Jenkins-one of the best players on the team possibly the most important player on our defence last year and the best Db we've had since dawk

Demarco-didn't fit chips scheme but he's a really good north south runner he would actually fit our current scheme and had a huge year for the titans

Kiko- I believe he played well this year only played one year for us fresh off an Acl

    Sproles-monster

Outside of hicks and lane he was awful at drafting though

The biggest issue was he got rid of fantastic players that did fit his scheme to a tee djax, shady,Mathis,Maclin(not his fault), where amazing players for that scheme and because he lost them thhe positions they play have had to be replaced with guys who didn't fit his scheme or where a step down this team would have been a different animal with this skill players this year

With reguards cap you could argue he is to blame for Demarco and Bradford but nothing beyond them really

Why Bradford? Yes he brought him in but didn't they give him the big contract after Chip was fired?

They where in a situation where they had potentially a franchise qb (wentz was not really on the cards at the time) they couldn't really let him hit free agency si they wheee backed into a corner. It's a stretch but it could be argued that the pieces where put into play by chip.

Chase getting a big contract is a direct result of Bradford getting his. You can't rely on Bradford for 16 games so you need a quality backup.

Wonder will Mark Sanchez get a backup job this year. He's far from the worst.

You'd have to imagine he would, he is fine in very small doses.

I'd take him as Eli's backup.

God no :P We do need something though, would they bring back Nassib if he can't find anything else?

Isn't the talk that the giants might pick up a developmental QB this draft and possibly Mahomes who needs a bit of time to develop and take over from Eli in time.

Sanchez is ten times the QB that Ryan Nassib is, IMO. He's a perfect backup - cheap, good pro and dependable enough to not lose you too many games (he won't win any either).

Nassib looked horrible last pre-season and I doubt the Giants would have any interest in retaining him.

That's the talk but personally I'd prefer an experienced backup this year. Too many holes in the team to waste a pick on a QB unless he's the guy that they really, really want.

That would be ideal, I'd be on board with Mahomes or Watson in the 1st but I have to admit it's doubtful.

I'd nearly rather Webb in the third, or something like that, over spending a first on any of the QBs in this draft.

Mahomes scares me, tbh. No value there, imo, unless he drops to us late in the 2nd.

I'd rather avoid drafting any QB this year though and grabbing Geno Smith, or any backup QB instead.

Also has over 70 starts in the league and another 6 or so in the playoffs ande at 30 he has a good 5+ years in him. I mean he's a poor QB overall but you could do far, far worse as a backup in my opinion. I'd say he's middle of the road in terms of backup quality, but the experience does help.

When the Jets were making the playoffs was it a case of Sanchez having an excellent team/defense around him?

The defense/running game were without question why they got there those two years, though the experience of having been there is still handy if he was backing up a starting QB who got injured during a playoff game. Strangely though, Sanchez played very well during the playoff games themselves - http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SancMa00/gamelog/post/

Don't see what people see in Mahomes at all to be honest

Mahomes excites me, the guy has serious potential & the background to fulfill it.

Would much prefer Sanchez or a rookie to Smith

Raiders move to vegas expected to be ratified by NFL owners today despite a last ditch proposal from Oakland. Seemingly the umpires are barred from entering vegas due to anti gambling rules

    Raiders to Vegas is approved
    Fun times ahead

Currently NFL referees are not even allowed enter the city of Las Vegas without advanced permission from the NFL.

Now they are moving the team there.

Hilarious how quickly the NFL will forget its morals for some extra $$$.

From a fan's perspective, it will be a great team to visit for an away game.

Once again the NFL and Roger are showing themselves to be all about the money. You'd swear the NFL is broke they way they get city to stump up money. I mean Oakland clearly didn't have the money yet the NFL expect the city of Oakland to let the raiders stay and use the name ?

I hope Oakland tell the raiders to take a jump. At least the chargers fecked off and didn't stay around.
