You'd get into a mk5 gti with that money.

Definitely not a dreamer. He'll get that all day for it. Scene tax is a real thing

What a bucket of scrap. 14 years old (English import) with 150k miles I'm sure that's genuine..:pac:

Madness to think how overrated they are that a MK5 GTI is nearly worth less. :o

They're simply not overrated and to be fair to the car linked on first impressions it doesn't appear to be a bucket of scrap and it has some alright bits included in the sale but the rear lights are stink.

However 4k for a 130bhp gt tdi he 100% is dreaming. (I'd pretty much garuntee he's looking for a petrol p/x for rally season :P)

Half his asking price would still be too much for it given the way insurance is on them at the moment.

Do you think there isn't a young lad somewhere in the country who is ready to raid his credit union account to pay that money for this pile of ****?

It might not be worth it, but I still think it'll sell because it's typical of the piles of shít I see driving around allover the place at the moment.

That golf seems camera shy it only likes it from the rear and did I just see a pic of it in a brush wash......

    That's a big no no

Yep they seem typical of the type of snaps these clowns are into apart from no photos of the car emerging from the ocean.

Not a car but car related. Ridiculous price for wheels IMO!

Jaysus. When I was racing they use to be for sale for €200 each (so €800 for a set, or maybe even cheaper if buying a set!)

The tyres that are on them are for track use only so I would be worried if they were used on a rally car previously.

I think it has. It's been for sale for 6 or 8 months now, maybe more. Price hasn't dropped. It's on english plates and doesn't have all the features the C6 could have. It'd get a decent price in the UK at that mileage but not 25k. And can't see it selling here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,445 ✭✭✭mloc123

I realise C6 is pretty rare here... but I would still price that around 10k max?

Obviously a statement from someone who has never purchased a set of new genuine wheels before. A new set of 14" Watanabes is about €1900

I doubt it. Where were you buying Watanabes in Ireland? Also all 4 tyres are road legal. Advan AD08 fronts & Toyo T1R rears.

So they're €1650 and new ones are €1900?

Here is a 2006 C6 Exclusive asking €7,350 on Irish plates and ready to go. Granted the car asking €25k has much lower mileage and I do at a glance see a few flaws with the cheaper. Notwithstanding it really doesn't make the €25k car worth anything near asking price. In fact the cheaper car is advertised on Donedeal for 33 days so at that price he most likely is asking too much. I would think the €10k mentioned for the car on Carzone is too much. If it was a 2008 on the "chape road tax" it may have a chance of getting €10k?

I know they're not included but someone pointed out that they were apparently non-road legal and likely used on a rally car. Nonsense.

Apologies, whichever way I looked at the ad I thought they were 13" instead of 14", and the two tyres that are at the front in pic 2 look like AO48's. That's what made me believe about the rally cars.

Understandably at a glance they could look like 13" Minilites or Superlites which are less than half the price, but Watanabes are a Japanese wheel and not a cheap one

Haha, and the cut of it - even if it was tidy and original it wouldn't be worth the colour of 11k..

I actually think that interior came out of a mk2 I used to own, how could a man forget a black and green leather interior :) ... mine was orange on the outside though :pac:

It's the flip-out key that brings up the value.

    Only worth 9k otherwise.

Service history from Germany, in a RHD car?

    Maybe an rhd conversion?

Being an 85 car it should have quarter windows in the doors too
