Yep. Didn't feature on the Irishtimes podcast at all... Ken Burley maybe?

Getting sick to the back teeth of listening to Shane Horgan on the rugby. He's on every bloody week. Really think they could do with varying their guests a little just to get a different perspective. It's not too bad for the football with many different contributors but definitely major Shane Horgan overdose on the rugby side.

Thought yesterday's pod was rubbish. A dull as dishwasher discussion about rugby and then the neverending boredom that it is GAA talk, even Nickey English didn't seem that bothered. They can't all be winners I guess!

    I agree.
A few weeks ago they had Shane Jennings on and it was very refreshing.

It's unlikely he's doing it for free when he knows the lads are making serious doe.

They're not making much money yet and he's Marks brother so doubt they're paying him anything much

Nothing more annoying (besides Murph) than irritating commentary being played at an incredibly loud volume for more than a second or two. Bloody hell lads.

I find when the commentary is really low far more annoying. If you are quick enough to turn up the volume on your phone to hear it, when the lads come back on, they blast your ears out of it.

    Can't win. :D

Did a double take when I saw the thread title change, was like 'is this a pre-IT SC thread that somebody has resurrected for some reason'?:P

6,582 patrons so far. Considering all the negative backlash (not so on this site, but on others) when the lads announced their new venture, this has to be seen as a resounding success and a testament to their popularity. I know that maintaining, and even expanding, these numbers will probably determine their long-term future but, for the moment, it appears people are willing to pay for quality product.

Way too early to come to any conclusion, IL be cancelling after this month and I suspect alot more will be aswell. I subscribed for novelty factor to see what the fuss was about that's it, I suspect alot in that boat.

Ken trying to explain Ter Stegen's position for the PSG goal to Eoin was bizarrely amusing.

Was surprised to hear the F-bomb from Sid Lowe, was like your schoolteacher swearing.

I think the opposite. I'd say a lot of people will get used to the extra podcasts and won't even notice the €5/6 per month going out of bank.

I would say it'll be interesting to see what the subscriber numbers are going to be like in 1-2 months, that should give a decent reflection of possible drop-off...

Fridays political podcast with Peter Geoghan was great. The only problem is it made me think I waste far too much time listening to sports!

On the subject of Ken, was there an episode last week with 'Ken Burley'... Heard it mentioned a while back but didn't hear any follow up!

Didn't think I would like Kens politics podcasts but the two that have been done were both brilliant!

Players chair this week with Brian Kerr. Can't wait. Love Kerr

Yeah, I've been impressed by the two political pods so far. Interesting interviewees and Ken seems to tweak his schtick just a bit for those shows, becoming a smidge less obvious and more adult.

Still think they should have called it Strawberry Blonde Polemics.

The only issue with the politics podcasts so far is that they discuss a certain faction without interviewing people within the faction itself.

Imagine for example discussing feminists with Milo Yiannopolis as the guest. It just wouldn't be the most interesting conversation.

I bet it'd be fantastic actually.
