Played a good bit of Zelda tonight, brilliant so far!
Works really well in handheld mode, but docked the left joycon is a pain, getting plenty of dropouts unless I sit on the edge of the couch leaning forward....within 4/5ft of the dock. It's in front of the TV, above all my av equipment, so unless my router or cordless phone which are sitting about 3ft away from it, are interfering but I can't see how.
I'll try a bit of moving it about in the morning and see what happens.

Swap the HDMI around. Put the end you have in the console into the TV and vice versa. Happened to me when I set mine up earlier.

Sadly nothing. Tried both ways there :(

I'm in the same boat. Everything else is powered off around it too. The first hour i had with the switch was flawless, and then zelda became almost unplayable. I had so many deaths falling off cliffs. I went out and got a pro controller today, and am wondering now if that was Nintendo's plan all along . I really hope there's something they can do about it, because i actually think the joy cons with the grip work great as a controller.

Mine is sat right next to my wireless router and underneath (next shelf down) from a SONOS wireless playbar and is working fine with no dropouts at all. Granted, the majority of the time we've been using the pro controller or the joy-cons separately (for snipperclips) so maybe this is more of an issue if using the joy-cons clipped together as a single controller (I guess a different part of the controller is facing the Switch when using them separately)

Zelda is great, although those blue bokoblins are a right royal PITA!!!

I'm torn... should I buy Snipperclips??

If you enjoyed the demo then go for it.

    Yes!!
It's great for 2-player, still enjoyable playing alone but definitely designed for 2

Anyone play Bomberman yet or dare I say it Skylanders.

As has been said already, I'd advise trying out the demo. I haven't seen single payer mode, but the 2 player version looks great fun (haven't had a go yet as kids are hogging it, but watching it is actually quite enjoyable as well)

I absolutely love the console, and zelda. I'm a little blown by it honestly.

Doesn't mean I'm not gonna be frustrated by a lack of software until Mario Kart releases mind, but right now its pretty fabulous.

You better not scratch my switch or I gonna scratch you.

Hope to be collecting mine later, then yours.

Blown away I hope, otherwise the device has some adult only features Nintendo haven't really advertised ;)

Just in case you didn't notice, you can claim Nintendo points for retail purchases now - its on the options menu (highlight game and hit +)

16 gold for Zelda. Wonder if I get any for owning a switch?

.. Well now I wanna know that. We should right? Also where's the activity log on this thing? On the switch I mean, not boards.

I'm debating buying it.. But question: say if I'm playing this and I take it as travelling to be a handheld.. Like say if I'm on the bus to my family home..

So from a strictly handheld point of view -

Realistically what is the battery life?

Is everything rechargeable or do you require the console itself to plug in and charge?

The dock? No you don't need the dock, you can plug it into a wall and charge it from the bottom of the console.

Finally got to set it up this morning as it was too late last night by the time I got home, I downloaded the puyo puyo tetris demo and dragonquest heroes demos from the japanese marketplace they seem pretty decent.

    Zelda looks so good.

Has anyone had trouble with the sync'ing of the joycons out of curiousity.

It was being touted as a real problem in reviews. Just wondering what it's like in real world play.

I just saw a side by side comparison with a vita and I'm very pleasantly surprised at the form factor. Not too big but not too small either to enjoy a AAA title.

No issues for me. Was in a friends house last night talking about it. Had the switch a good distance away and trying to cover the left joy on with my hand and couldn't replicate it.

Absolutely loving it and surprised by how much I love it as a handheld. I can see myself playing it more as a portable device than docked, it just feels so good in the hand.

That's what I ended up doing with the Wii U. Don't get me wrong it's great sitting in front of a big telly with a proper controller but the Wii U gamepad for me was comfortable and I got to put in way more game time sitting on the couch than I would have otherwise. Especially when we only had one telly and the missus wanted to watch some sh1t

I believe it's 3 - 6 hours. Zelda is meant to get you 3 hours of battery.

I heard people moaning about this. It's a freakin handheld playing very demanding games like Zelda! What can a phone do playing a demanding game. **** all ! That's what.

I see 3 hours being the consoles way of telling me to take a break and get a coffee. :-)

Based on around an hour of unconnected play last night, I'd say the battery is good enough to easily last a few commutes, but you'd be quickly in need of juice if on a lengthy flight or the like. Which is all fairly expected when the thing is such a technological leap from its predecessor (jumping from Pokemon Sun to Breath of the Wild is a good two or three generation leap!)

I think it's too big as a handheld, doesn't feel good in the hand for me. I've nearly dropped it several times when trying to hold it one handed too so don't try scratch your nose or anything :D. It's plugged into the same monitor my PC and PS4 use so I doubt I'll be using it as a handheld much anyway.

It's definately a device I'd be putting gorilla glass on on day one

It has saved my iPhone dozens of times. I drop it a lot
