They weren't on blues. So it wasn't a critical incident. I doubt anyone is waiting up at 4am to have a chat with the Gardai. In fact, any time I've seen them attend they've usually called around the next morning.
Sure, it's fairly rare to have any criminals operating at 4am all right.

At 4am in the morning on the M50 between Dundrum and Firhouse? Strange way and time to be on the way to the courts.
Do you really need me to spell it out for you? The Courts was just one example. So maybe they were getting into position for an early morning checkpoint on HGVs? Or maybe they were heading for a joint operation with Social Protection or RSA?

Who knows, and really who cares - does it matter? The suggestion that every Garda car should stop for every offence they see is just unworkable. But maybe the suggestion is that Gardai should stop whenever they are seen by a boards poster?

Surprised both airbags inflated, looks pretty minimal frontal impact. As both bags inflater the tool must have had a passenger in the car with them, the passenger as bad as them for getting in the car with them and letting them drive.

Even though the front end damage is minimal, the bags being out is enough to economically write that car, I know someone who paid to get airbags put back in on a 2005 Opel Vectra in 2006 and they cost €4000 cash. Imagine the cost on that.

From today in the UK it is £200 and 6 points for using a phone whilst driving.

People over there moaning that they didn't know about the fines and points increases. Probably the same people who use a phone while driving. Don't do it and you don't need to worry about how high the penalties are.

Ah its needed in fairness. I watched a lady coming towards me in Parkwest this morning, face buried in her lap on her phone. She woke up quick enough when she hit the first speed ramp.:pac:

    Honda Deauvile.

They got in new BMW r1200 last year but still have some other models such as Yamaha fjr.

UK uses a lot of the BMW and deauvile is discontinued so they moved up from them.

They use to use Honda pan European but they had some serious speed issues such as wobble at high speed due to extra weight and gear fitted to them for police spec.

They were up early this morning with the speed van on the N3 Dublin CC outbound at the Esso petrol station
Of course camera pointed to the exact spot where the speed limit goes from 80 down to 60.

I have had my speed check discovery training in Holland so they will not catch me with their white /fluorescent green vans.

    We have the wheelie bin
    The trailer
    Hidden tripod mounted camera

    The broken down van

And then all kinds of hidden non-mobile camera's

Break the speed limit everywhere on a trip from Rotterdam to Amsterdam and they can send you a movie in stead of separate photo's.
