Chatting to the manager and he said they sold out on the pre-orders months ago.

NYC Nintendo Store got playable Switch Demo Units today so maybe other gamestores will get theirs after the 23rd Embargo.

How will we get back to normality after launch, no more need to be obsessed with Threads, NintednoLife, IGN, MyNintendoNews etc for scrapes of new Switch info

TBOW better be good after all this... Maybe we get more Info 22nd 23rd officially from Nintendo. If not they really need a kick up the arse, no need to be holding back info at this late stage. Either way 9 more days!!

Gamestop haven't been able to tell me what I had left on my pre order because they have yet to get 'confirmation' of the price. I already knew but wanted to make sure it was right on their system.

It's not Switchmas until one second past midnight in my view. And you're wise to ask. Nothing good can come of premature switching.

For anyone who hasn't been on reddit today, it turns out that it is possible to get a 5 character User ID, even though there is supposed to be a 6 character minimum.

(This is for the unique User ID not the nickname)

It worked for me, I got a 5 character name.

Link to redit post, but I have quoted it below for convenience

Reddit User: We1etu1n
Make sure you're using Chrome.

First in the User ID change, open the page and immediately type your name and press enter. You'll get an error. After that, right click save and click on "Inspect Element".
You should be shown something like this.

Change the class with this:
btn btn-primary btn-medium formInput-submit

Remove the disabled part. Should look like this.

Then click "save" and more than likely it'll tell you your username was changed or something like that. If it fails, try again.

This was the only way I was able to replicate it with it being mostly successful. Anything under 5 doesn't seem to work at all.

Don't be surprised if Nintendo come along and wipe your ID or add a character to bring it up to 6.

What he says about launching in Q1 makes a lot of sense to be honest. Whether it will work out like that is always up in the air in a consoles first year, but there's sense in building an install base and allowing both games and consoles to be available for busier parts of the year, without having to deal with every problem a consoles launch inevitably brings.

That's a shame. I think my wife is hoping the Switch will break my crippling Overwatch addiction, or at least free up the telly so she can watch her stuff again :-/
