Healy hasn't a clue. I accept he has probably the worst choice of players in probably fifteen years but he has been a disaster from day one really and confidence must be at rock bottom in the squad.

They're obviously a good team as they've won all their games outside of cork easily so far. But it goes without saying a team from Kilkenny are bound to be good also. I think a lot again will come down to how Nicky Kelly plays, the day he's held Mayfield will be under pressure

    I'd say it's a very 50/50 game

Mayfield up by 2-09 v 1-06 at HT
Kelly coming into his own as the half wore on with 3 points from frees and a beauty from play.

Superb stuff from Nicky Kelly. If they win there'll be some session in the club tonight.

Any argument to be made to have Kelly involved in the cork panel?

Well that was seriously bad. Gone backwards from last year if that performance is anything to go by. Horgan's attitude is very poor and you'd have to question if he should even be starting at this stage. Beaten in almost every position on the field tonight.

Well done Dublin - a great bounce back from last week. Cork in big trouble with the 3 best teams in the league to come.

Back to the drawing board I'm afraid

Was at it there, I don't know how it looked on TV but Cork are so light. Need to inject some physicality badly.
O keefe, brosnan and o Flynn should be getting chances on physicality alone.
Harnedy didn't win any ball from puck outs, seems to have been found out. I'd like to see the 3 above in the half forward line with a mix of Kingston, Meade, lehane, Cadogan or hoggy in full.

I can't even suggest anything for the back line. Totally out muscled and out paced tonight. Nash's puck outs were v poor too but he has nothing to aim at a lot of the time.

Tbh it's scary to think that the side out there tonight is probably not too far away from our starting championship 15. Genuinely hate being critical on the lads because it takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there. It's going to be a long short year.

our touch poor again tonight, dropping passes and taking 2 or 3 goes to rise the ball. short puckout tactic is just give it to the corner back and then what? nobody moving to take a pass so he runs into trouble.

    Disappointing.

But Dublin are manufactured hurlers. Cork are more likely to lose to them than teams like Clare/Limerick/Galway.

fair point but , against clare cork could afford to go long , they had the pace to beat our slow half and full back line , tonight dubln were far bigger and more phsyical then the smaller cork forwards so they reverted back to the tactics of the wexford game last year (which this team can not play ) kingston needs a new plan B , Cork have plenty of promise if they can direct it properly

Clare won't trouble any serious team, neither will Cork. Kingston is headless. It's another Tipp v KK final, unless Waterford are considerably better than I think they are.

i wouldnt get that carried away , last year both tipp and kilkenny came very cloose to becoming unstuck at semi final stage , limerick came close 2 years ago , every one of the top 7 or 8 teams in the country on there day can win an all ireland it all depends on how you are directed

dont think clare will win anything this year but they will play alot more like tipperary in there style then what fitz used to do

while we are away from the LK thread i agree with most of your views on kiely probably not the best man , would love to see carey there with someone like foley as a selector with plenty of swinging and direct stuff

what baffles me about cork is people like donal og , who is regarded as one of the top coaches in the country acting as a spectator up in clare , after his sunday game rant a few years ago would it not be more productive if he gave kingson a hand rather then bury his head in the sand

I regard you as 1 of the most astute hurling people on these threads. But you must never let your county colours cloud judgement.

Donal og is a headline seeker, no credentials whatsoever. Cork have the skill but little else.

Top 4 (and by some distance):

    Tipp
    KK
    Waterford
    Galway

agreed but major qustion marks over teams 3 and 4 in that list to get over the line if it were all ireland final day ,point i make is if limerick clare or cork got on a run they probably have enough to challenge themselves but as i say clare will not be in the mix this year ,

given this is a cork thread i hope the likes of meade shane kingston , coleman cadogan and players like griffin at corner back who had a bad night improve as the league goes on , if they can work with them over the summer and find a system ( which is beyond management in my opinion ) they can still make an impact .

donal og serves no purpose in clare , dose he actually do anything in cloyne or the local area in cork for underage?
