Thought it was time to start a new thread :D

The opening episode was grand, didn't hate it but didn't exactly love it either.

Episode two was funnier IMO, I proper lol'd at the very end.
I found the scenes with Mac and Dee trapped in the slide very hard to watch as a claustrophobe but amusing nonetheless.

I absolutely loved the second episode. Laughed the whole way through it. Had to look away
when Frank was coming down the slide.

Stop talking to the children about their buttholes okay, it's not appropriate

Strongest start to a season in a long long time. Loved all the storylines this week.

If anyone wants to read a short story similar to Macs butt hole thing in the latest episode, check out Guts by Chuck Palahniuk. Get past the masturbation stories at the start!

When frank and charlie where going down all the slides together and frank is shouting out "i've got aids" i nearly fell out of my chair laughing.

also when they send the unconcious kid down the slide was sunny at its best.

    Great episode.

First episode was meh, but episode two more than made up for it, was genuinely laughing out loud all the way through.

    Although, 18 mins including credits?!

Another laugh out loud episode, and it featured CROWS! CAW CAW CAW CAW!!!!

I let a loud hoot of laughter when I read the episode description before I watched, and that wasn't even the funniest part as it turned out! Very amusing

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,710 ✭✭✭ahlookit

Yeah, it was a very good episode again, strong season so far. The only thing missing from this one was Charlie didn't quote any bird law

Looking forward to next weeks episode just based on the title alone :D

    Making Dennis Reynolds a Murderer

    Synopsis:
An episode filmed in the true crime style of Making a Murderer and The Jinx which begins with 911 call: A cat-woman formerly known as Maureen Ponderosa has been found dead in an alley and Dennis is the prime suspect.

Well, what'd ya think? I enjoyed it, though not as laugh-out-loud funny as other episodes.

Charlie as Brendan Dassey was hilarious! :D

It was the dead crows that put you off, wasn't it?

Frank as Bob durst was great!

    Thought it was great :D
Loved Franks mic bit and Dennis staring down the camera.

Would like to know what someone who hasn't seen Making a Murderer would make of this, feels like they'd miss 50% of the jokes/references, ie: Charlies whole bit.

Also loved Mac and Charlies whole explanation at the end on how these types of shows work and their purposly flawed depiction of events/facts to keep audiences guessing or making them choose sides.

I'm one of those and I think a lot of it did go over my head (including that Charlie bit).

that was one of my favourite episodes in years they nailed it.

    Dennis staring down the camera.

    .

That is one of the best things I have seen in it , we all know he is a serial killer but the the 2 hours of staring . Brilliant

I've only seen a couple of episodes of Making a Murderer so I guess I missed a lot.

I'm a huge IASIP fan but apart from the first episode this season which I though was fantastic I think they seem to be going for clever more than funny this season.

Also thought Mac and Charlies whole explaination at the end was needless. Surely this is what the whole episode was satirising. They didn't have to pound the notion home.

    Scott Tenerman
    style denouement though.

Probably the weakest story so far this season, more of joke per minute heavy episode, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Charlies cheese lolipop killed me :D

Loving the Making a Murderer skit!

Have to say this season has been somewhat disappointing, the water park episode aside which was the funniest in years.

That episode with cricket was simply boring.

I think it's been very hit and miss. Hero or Hate Crime was an instant classic, I also really enjoyed the episode with the two mothers, and the making a murderer spoof. There have been some duds though also

No no no no no no no no..

... no no no no no no!

Essentially - Sunny without Dennis, Charlie, Mac or Dee is no longer Sunny!

PS - could give or take DeVito!

When possible, I prefer to watch shows in their production order. This season works much better with "A Cricket's Tale" first, as then in the later episodes, you see the reasons for the gang's crazy scenes in Cricket's episode. The order it aired is not very interesting, to me anyways. I watched the episodes in this order:

    A Cricket's Tale
    Hero or Hate Crime?
    PTSDee
    Making Dennis Reynolds A Murderer
Old Lady House: A Situation Comedy
Wolf Cola: A Public Relations Nightmare
The Gang Goes To A Water Park
    The Gang Turns Black
    The Gang Tends Bar
    Dennis' Double Life

i think if they lose any of the core group the show is as good as gone it just wont have the same dynamic.

My own ratings for season 12...

The Gang Turns Black : Solid opener, I liked the quirky little songs and the musical element, 7.5 on 10

The Gang goes to the Water Park : Yeah liked this one, loved Dennis' angle with the little girl and Frank and Charlie off doing their thing was funny too, 8 on 10

Old Lady House A Situation Comedy : Hmmm, no this wasn't really my cup of tea tbh, Macs mother just grunts I'm not a fan of many episodes she's in except when Dennis tried to bang her years ago! It was a good idea for an episode I just wasn't into it myself 6 on 10

Wolf Cola A Public Relations Nightmare : This was imo the weakest of the whole season, I think someone else posted here that they loved it, different strokes and all that, 5 on 10

Making Dennis a Murderer : Very good, Dennis is my fav character so when he's the main man it's usually good, helps that I've seen MoM and The Jinx, it may go over peoples heads if they have not seen those programmes but seeing as I did I loved the episode! The scene when Dennis is just staring into the camera without blinking is brilliant. 8.5 on 10

Hero or Hate Crime? : Another good one here, the start of it is very well worked, Frank blurting out what he does was very funny! Mac's big 'reveal at the end too was good! Loved his exercise bike! 8 on 10

PTSDee : Yep, Daddy and the Boy you gotta lol! Mac and Frank off in their virtual reality was amusing and Dee really did manage to put together a good plan, I didn't see it coming! 8 on 10

The Gang Tends Bar : This one never really grabbed me to be honest, you get occasional episodes where they do seem to just be shouting over each other all the way through and it can be slightly annoying, this was one for me 5.5 on 10

A Crickets Tale : I like Cricket as a character, having a full episode about him was worth a go but it was just about passable, not brilliant by any stretch but an ok attempt, 6.5 on 10

Dennis Double Life : Cracking season finale, lots going on, I won't say too much in case folks have not watched yet, certainly leaves it well open for the next season, 9 on 10

    Average : 7.2 on 10

Think I'd prefer if they all did something new at this stage. Or if the hiatus was a 5 tear one or so.

    My favourite episodes were:
    Making Dennis a Murderer
    Hero or Hate Crime?

    My least favourite were:
Wolf Cola A Public Relations Nightmare - awful. The dropping in of UFC "actors" just made it feel like a really bad episode of the 'The League'
The Gang goes to the Water Park - the bit where they got stuck in the water chute really annoyed me. Felt like I was watching Kenan And Kel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

The Cricket episode and the Gang Goes Black were both awful, anytime they try anything out of the normal, it can be very hit and miss.

I personally thought the Waterpark was the best :pac:

When they all arrive on Netflix soon, I'll probably rewatch them again, and i'll possibly like the other episodes. Just those two stood out for me. May be dependent on the type of mood I was in at the time. :D

What I remember most is thinking that I didn't want some of them to end, such as the last one with Dennis....actually the 2 of them if you include making a murderer. The cricket one was brilliant as well, I was well impressed with how they tied it into the previous one :)
