    I like the show, etc.

But there really, really is no need to get Gerry Thornley on the phone to talk rugby at 6.30, with 3 hours of OTB at 7.

    What the f***?

Now it's live to Anfield to Kevin Kilbane??

This is overkill, come on for f*** sake.

The show is 30 minutes too long if they're filling time with sports when Off the Ball is on next. They should give Moncrief back the 30 mins they took from him

I like Henry Mckean. He is like a deer in the headlights though.

I also like Henry McKean, and I do agree that the sports segment just before OTB is a bit too much ....well, sport.

That whole wide eyed "Child's first day on Earth" routine of his runs a little bit thin after a while.

Henry has a handy number! His pieces are about 5 mins long, it's like he's in a never ending transition year work placement

It literally was schoolwork for a while. Remember when he used to ask actual children about the topics of the day? Kids Talk or some nonsense it was called.

Maybe he's not even on the payroll, they just don't have the heart not to air his little short stories lol

It's great he's not on Sean's show anymore, he seemed to hang around methadone clinics when he was doing street interviews and god help us when he had his mother in the studio. So give Sean back his half an hour but leave Henry where he is

Something about it just doesn't work with a drivetime slot. There's definitely a role for it still on Moncrieff but Drivetime needs a level of seriousness doesn't it? Don't get me wrong - it's good when they mix it up - but a 'Henry is stunned by the ordinary wonders of life' every day of the week is overkill.

What's weird is Henry's but is exactly the same as it was on Moncrieff. It makes no sense to shorten Moncrieff but have exactly the same slot in the show that took (nay, stole) the half hour from 4 to 4.30.

    henry mckeen FFS.

HOW does that bollocks still have a job?

Where does he find the people he surveys?

It's like he conducts an IQ test and then if they're within the moronoic threshold he asks them for their opinions

Yes a view from the streets of Dublin consists of Henry polling the biggest bums and junkies he can find.

It's like trying to sit through an episode of Jeremy Kyle most days. Instant channel changer.

Sarah showing her stuff with Stephen Donnelly, the wandering jewel. Her interview showed how good she can be, calling him on his reversal of policies and punching holes in his defensive rhetoric. Shining a light on a same-old political hack hiding behind bladder to appear altruistic.

Niamh Horan is a foolish little girl, shouldn't be allowed on the airwaves

Nice to finally hear somebody putting it up to Larry Donnolly.. He's given a free run on behalf of the Democrats every time he comes on the Newstalk.

Sitting chatting to the husband about it. Both of us have turned off drivetime. Cannot stand her-she's obnoxious, biased, not well enough researched and just overall grating.

I agree. Extremely right wing - I can't believe that she's a columnist. Wants Trump-style policies here. Very unpleasant opinions.

Thought she was very good in that interview. Very well prepared.

Why is that? Should all columnists be right-on trendy liberal types who should only echo the views that you hold? Doesn't say much for free speech, does it?

You're absolutley right. I admit it is a bit over the top - suffering with a bout of the 'flu at the moment. Not thinking rationally. I'll be more epigrammatic next week, I hope.:o

New listener the past few evenings and it's such a change from the boring tired format of the last word. It also seems to have less ad's than TLW and more time given to the interviews/topics.

It's like a primary school project to setup a school radio station. Bizarre.

Yeah, I like that. It's a bit Donald Trump-heavy but they seem to do give most topics a fair length of time. I think having two presenters boosts it. Freshens items up a little.

Ridiculous interview with Mary Mitchell O Connor yesterday re: HP job losses. 75% of HP's profits come from its printing arm. 31 billion. Granted they are not all from inkjet but you'd swear they were closing their printing division! It's the only thing that's kept them afloat with all the issues with PC business etc.

They are moving for cheaper manufacturing costs and nothing else!

Not sure if she was bs'ing or just clueless. Sounded like the latter.
