Those Pokémon numbers are amazing for a game that was only out for just over a month of those accounts.

I'm surprised they didn't bring out even a Pokémon puzzle game for the Switch launch to capitalise on the current popularity.

I think we'll see the Pokémon "Stars" announced at E3 or before.

If any company would give up making consoles, I'd imagine it'd be Microsoft. Not go third party I mean, just stop making full xbox consoles except as cheap boxes to put under the tv and make Xbox a brand/storefront with Windows 10.
Nintendo chief Kimishima said the firm plans to increase production of Switch, pre-order status so far good.

You mean... when you market a console right, advertise it, get a buzz for it and have people talking about it and show cool games for it, people want to buy your console? I imagine Nintendo can't comprehend the logic behind this.

64gb micro sd in Argos for €32.99

    http://checkargos.com/product/3392210
Not a bad price.  So with micro sd on the switch will you need it to write data very often. The reason I mention it, is those Ultras are good at reading but barely break 15Mb/s when writing.  Probably not important for the switch.

Read speed is much more important but write speed will help with saving and DLC.

Could get almost twice that capacity for just a few euro more shopping online!

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00WR0HIR4/ref=ya_st_dp_summary

Bought this on friday for £42 currently 4 cheaper than that :( but 128gb should be enough for a long time also ordered a 20100 mah power bank
What people forget is often the cheaper micro sd's have shockingly crap performance which is usually reflected in price.  If you need to read and write a lot then performance can be important.  Maybe not on the switch though.   For example the 256GB Samsung Evo is actually faster than their 64GB Pro+ models at around 90Mb/s sec write and read, while the 128GB Evo remains mid range and is more than twice as slow writing compared with the 256GB variant.  You get what you pay for usually.

    The one I ordered, (a 128GB Toshiba Exceria) is a U3 card, so 90Mb/s read, 30Mb/s write.
Was on offer for £33.31 when I got it, up to £39.99 now.

Depends on the seller - Amazon do it for £32.49, but it's not in stock. Ships in 1-2 months. I know what you're thinking. Does Zelda take up 20GB or only about 13. Well given that it's the only game you'll be buying on release, and you'll be getting it on cartridge, and Mariokart isn't out till april you gotta ask yourself one question. Do I need storage? Well, do ya, punk?

Hardly surprising given its high price.

I wonder how many people think this is Nintendo's first home console since the Wii.

The pre-orders are through the roof.

I think wii u pre orders were very good too. But it fell off a cliff after a couple of months

The switch will need to bring out a steady supply of games IMO

Does anyone have any experience with getting a launch console from Argos in the past or even the PSVR?

Does the console just show up on the website the morning it's released or at midnight?

It's €330 even given our tax rate, and no competition at retail (ie. what's happening in france) and there is nothing on the market that currently compares to it. It's not a high price. I am genuinely baffled.

I still think 330 for what it is. Is very cheap as I paid more for a phone.... More for my Xbox one and Ps4.....

Company's have to make. Money like.... Otherwise why would they be makeing games?

Yeah €330 isn't that bad for the unit itself even if it really should come with a game included. But I wouldn't compare it to the price of a phone or a proper home console either - it's a handheld that has TV out via the dock, so in that sense the price is fair enough.

It's when you want to use it as a home console that the price starts creeping up - pro controller or second set of joy-cons for proper multi-player, half decent SD card etc. But then again, when has a console/handheld launch ever given much change from €400? That's the early adopter tax. :)

Amazon.de orderers will be getting it for 280 euro.

There was a pricing error(for 180) coupled with preorder price guarantee.

Good card for the Switch - SanDisk Ultra 128 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with SD Adapter @ £29.99 Amazon Lightning
deal (select Frustration Free packaging). Not as cheap as it was last week (£24) but still really good. Get it before it's gone!

Apologies if this was asked already, I went back through the thread but couldn't see it if it was.

I see Smyths are doing a midnight launch, is this for all stores?
Is there any word on gamestop doing the same.

Should I cancel my 5eur pre-order with Gamestop and pre-order with Smyths?

I'm working till 11pm on the 2nd of March and took the 3rd off, so I want to go straight from work to pick it up.

Also I haven't pre-ordered BOTW yet, am I safe leaving it for another week or two before pre-ordering it? (until i figure out where I'm actually going to pick it up)

According to their facebook, all smyths, and we don't know with Gamestop, but it won't be all stores with them cos it never is.

    Thanks for the reply.

Smyths are still taking pre-orders, and showing up as in stock for 3rd of march. Surely they must be sold out at this point?

If they pre-authorize my card do they take the money out now, on release or when I pick it up?

they prob won't honour the price, they just email the effect people explaining what happen and give them the option to cancel or keep it at the price before the error occurred. then they will offer some form of compo to those who complain enough.

any chance of amazon Uk price matching gameseek £198.50 for the switch.

The German fellow I found out about this from seemed adamant Amazon confirmed the 280. It was mispriced to 180 which isn't being honoured.

Btw, smart app only voice chat is more likely than on device chat:
    https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2017/170201_2e.pdf page 19 kimi-kun talks about splatoon 2.

Smyth's don't preauthorize and/or take any money till the day before its released. So if you order now money will be taken on the second of march.

If you don't get one for launch, you'll be put on the list for when they next get a shipment, and won't be charged or nothing.

So who here is buying Switch just for Zelda and already has a WiiU?

I'm having pre-order buyer regrets already here.
