64gb micro sd in Argos for €32.99

    http://checkargos.com/product/3392210

No offence but that's $h1t€. There's far better deals than that.

Whilst it's not a great price/deal, it remains valid as it shows that a decent sized memory card for a light user costs 50% less than Switch game.

Obviously there's much better value to be had but it's not like those on bargain alerts flogging 32gb usb 2.0 keys.

I got a similar call. extended it to games, basically said any games not preordered wont be stocked.

I have BOTW ordered already. so ordered bomberman.

No mention of paying the €50 deposit on my online pre order.

Wow! Gamestop really are putting a lot of faith in the Switch.

I called into Gamestop to put some more money against my Switch order. The offer above applies to ALL accessories, including first party (spare Joy-Cons, Pro Controllers, Cases etc.)

The only caveat is that they need to be preordered before the Switch comes out.

I took a punt on it, the seller has feedback on that product and overwhelmingly positive, it's only £6.99 if it's not 256GB I'll just get my money back. I guess read speeds could be a problem with the Switch but it says it's Class 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,217 ✭✭✭maximoose

Seller only has 75 feedback, mostly for these cards, 2nd most recent is
not even 20gb on it binned immediately

Doubt these are genuine for that price, fake capacity most likely.

Cards will vary in capacity and speed as they are factory formatted in bulk and so real capacity will vary from 8 gb to 256 gb.

For real? I'll go for a pro controller at €64.

i was just in gamestop and the guy printed off the list and said it does not include first party stuff. just pdp's accessories

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,430 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I highly doubt they'll include any first party accessories in the 20% off promotion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭panevthe3rd

I've pre ordered an extra set of joy cons with gamestop and didn't get 20% off.

Fairly sure it isnt the first party stuff.

He showed me the price list and said that 20% applied to all accessories. Joy-Cons and pro-controllers were both on it.

was in GS today to preorder zelda

I wanted to pay it off but he couldn't tell me how much zelda was going to be

they again mentioned the 20% accessories

Thing the guy printed for me had joy cons and such on it but not marked as included. Some cases, screen protectors and a headset were the only things included

Aren't we missing the point here?

i.e. That there's at least 1 Gamestop out there where the staff think that Joy-Cons are on the 20% list, and that's the place we should all be preordering?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 980 ✭✭✭hairball

Just popped into my local Gamestop to preorder games and accessories so I hope this 20% off thing applies to the first party stuff as well! The lads were telling me there's huge interest in the switch.

Yooka-Laylee Switch version won't cost extra as was suggested it might previously:

    That's great news.
This is the only edition of the game playable on the go, isn't it?
I've yet to get an email about changing my order to the Switch.

I'm now torn between getting a pro controller and a screen cover or a new set of Joycons and a charge grip...
I'm thinking the controllers are easily charged on the device...

Doesn't seem like there will be a physical Switch version though, only digital.

They said they will send the backerkit survey soon to allow people to change their options if they want to. One little warning, if you don't change from your Wii U option (now cancelled) it'll autoset to Steam on PC.

What? No call for a ban for kevin looking smug playing the Switch? :P
Have to ask, Kevin, about the one beside you in the furry outfit. What was the story there?

Been wanting to post about the sleep mode on Switch, thankfully someone has made a short gif Tweet.

Also, here's a photo of a Switch dev unit.

I was only saying yesterday that this would be the colour scheme I'd prefer.

If they're really smart, Pokemon Stars will be real. Pokemon is a system seller.

Nintendo made $500 million profit in the Oct-Dec quarter and expects to make $900 million profit by the end of the fiscal year. I don't necessarily see this as a company in trouble as all the naysayers who say Nintendo should ditch hardware would have you believe.

    Roll on March 3rd!

Thats the thing, Nintendo could make a mess of their next 5 console releases and still not be in trouble. They have the money to experiment as much as they like really for very little financial risk.

The NES Classic is basically printing money and a SNES classic would do just as well if not better.

I know they've a huge financial nest egg and are safe for at least 50 years but the thing is they're not losing money, they're MAKING (quite a lot) of money. People still give them slack and predict their downfall
