Can we stick them all on a boat and sink it instead?

You realise we have no right in Ireland ? Who would people vote for ? no party around. Not say something about the false claims ?

There's one thing that all the Trump supporters seem to have, it's an inability to make a post without making a derogatory statement about someone. The alt right in particular have a propensity for sexual insults (In this case metrosexual).

It's not about debating fact. It's the politics of a 13 year old bully who thinks they can win through humiliation.

Nonsense! This is Ireland.. there IS no "alt right" except as a buzzword on social media by those who see questions and debate as threats to their viewpoint. Contrary to what Twitter and Facebook might have you believe, there's a big world out there beyond US college campuses and the race to show each other how "progressive"/"right-on" you are.

Another common tactic is to try and discredit the person with the question/objection and stifle the debate itself by insulting their intelligence while ignoring and not responding to the actual point they raised.

And yet they're the "fascists"

While I attack Trump for being an incompetent idiot I have no sympathy for the left. They will attack people with different views and lean on them yet call those on the right "fascists".

People are tired of being told what to think and how to think by do-gooders, mostly middle class, and thus uneffected by the effect of their "tolerance" towards certain issues particularly immigration.

Look at this nutty reaction to Trumps victory. The left wing media can not believe they can't tell people how to think any more or provide their moral compass to the peasantry.

Lol. Whitelash... Pretty sure most presidents win because of the white vote. because America is mostly white. And who was the black person running for office ? They do realise Obama had 2 terms ? Seemed to be advocating 3 ?

Whatever about Trump (I'm sure Enda Kenny and whoever replaces him will be perfectly happy to fellate him every St Patrick's Day for the next four years, so you've nothing to worry about there), should Ireland not be opposing Brexit? As there doesn't seem to be any alternative to the return of a hard border between north and south, is it not incumbent upon our government to attack Brexit? There's an outside chance that we might have an opportunity to vote on it.

The worst, most bullying behaviour I've seen online came from Remainers and Hillary voters. And the most name calling.

Have you seen the number of Trump supporters banned from the Trump thread?

Nope, But I don't reckon we have very many Americans posting. For the most part we have virtue signalling about some other countries election.

Agreed that Kenny would 'fellate' whoever was elected as US President.

There is no point in our public figures being publicly anti-Brexit though, it just leaves us with our ass in the air if "hard Brexit" goes ahead.

There a fair number of Tories that are opposed, they are keeping their powder dry for the time being, at least in public. Bear in mind that the Iron Lady was done in by the pro-European faction in her own party!

Yep, attacking a persons views is perfectly acceptable. If a person says something racist it's ok to call them racist. If a person says something nonsensical then it's ok to point out why it's nonsensical and call them an idiot.

There's this image of people on the left as trying to shut down free speech because they point out those things. I'm sure there's probably a few on the left that are but the majority aren't.

I'll even call out their debating style. If they start with "liberal tears" or "Snowflake" I'll generally tell them to cut out that crap and actually talk facts.

It is an important election. It's not some little country in the back end of nowhere. It's the most powerful nation on earth. Even just from a domestic policy point of view they can affect what happens here. If Trump guts the EPA and rolls back environmental legislation the way he says he will, it will have a detrimental effect on global warming and therefore on us. If he starts engaging in protectionist policies we could see multinationals cutting jobs and we lose out. IF Russia influenced the US election then we should be worried that it could happen in europe too.

What happens in america influences and effects the rest of the world, especially in the west.

Probably born out of "no platformers", the type who think it's acceptable to use violence for political purposes, attacking the Irish Times for carrying a piece by some alt-right guy etc etc.

The image of what they stand for didn't fall from the sky.

It might be part of the reason why Trump resonated with so many men.

For instance, I played both hurling, Gaelic football and rugby up to a senior level. As in playing for my clubs first teams.

A boys dressing room is just like Trump mouthing off. We do slag each other and sometimes refer to women in a less than delicate manner. We sometimes use bad man words to describe women. From slang like broad or bird, to insults like bitch or cnut.

All guys have used these phrases. All former Presidents of the USA have also. At least "45" will admit to doing it.

The issue is Trump has said it in public not being a politician. That and using a 10 year old tap is just well real life strawman. Most have USA presidents behind close doors have been anything from criminals, Racists, womanisers, Drug users. Bill was liked and he got a BJ in the white house. Now they are all over him and his wife gushing. If you use the left logic Hillary would be a weak woman taking a cheater back.

Most guys will talk sexually about women (if they're straight) but most won't wander around a teenagers dressing room and will realise what's very wrong about it.

No, those images are carefully crafted. Millions of women marched in protest against Trump. There's any number of video's of stupid women saying stupid things. Those women are a minority yet they're used to portray all of the millions as mindless idiots.
The vast majority of people who dislike Trump are not radical idiots. They are people who saw an obnoxious liar who's policies are dangerous. They dislike him because of what he said and what he's said he's going to do.

50% of his vote was Women ?

50% of his vote was Women ?

So? Are women not allowed to make up their own minds? Or do they vote as a homogeneous group like stepford wifes?

And by the way, it was 42%.

There are legal residents stuck in airports across the world currently, who have legal Green Card status, and are being refused re-entry to America because they are a national of one of the countries banned.

That Muslim Ban omits the Muslim countries the Trump Organization has business ties with. It cites 9/11 in the Executive Order yet omits all countries the 9/11 bombers came from (Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia). Why? Well Trump has golf courses and hotels in those countries.

The last high profile time, en masse, the USA followed such a policy was when they turned away the Jews in 1939 and scuppered a bipartisan Bill in Congress to admit 50,000 of them. They literally turned ships around and people to their deaths.

    Three-year-old children are not terrorists.

I'm absolutely ok with Ireland missing the boat attacking Trump for being the heartless, ignorant, corrupt, narcissistic, sociopathic, piece of sh1t he is.

Anyway, all we have to do to get on his good side is let the Trump Organisation build a few golf courses here and give Trump some makey-uppy Doctorate from Trinity. Narcissists are easily pleased.

You can die not getting on a plane.. ?

You can die not getting on a plane.. ?

Yeah funnily enough people can die by not fleeing a dangerous region.

Strange how that works eh? Put child on plane from dangerous place to less dangerous place.

Judging from your posts in this thread, anybody who criticizes Fuhrer Trump or Brexit will be called a snowflake or libtard.

We're not all devoid of empathy like yourself.

Green card people are flying to areas where they can be killed ?

Green card people are flying to areas where they can be killed ?

You're not very good at differentiating between things are you?

The Green Card people being refused re-entry are mostly the ones visiting home for a few weeks or on business elsewhere. So that could be a city in Yemen or it could be Killarney. The stories I'm following on Twitter are of chaotic scenes of people being refused boarding from various countries and the ones who landed are being met with Immigration officials who have no clue what to do next.

So, no, they are probably not in areas where they can be killed currently.

My other (whole separate) point was there are innocent men, women and children most certainly in areas where they will be killed if they don't flee.

Trump has turned his back on them, despite what the Statue of Liberty says, despite what Paul Ryan and the entire GOP said about it's unconstitutionality.

He's turned America's back on humanity and compassion. The 7 countries on the ban list, America is currently bombing or has bombed 5 of them and participated in bombing the other 2.

Go in, wreck their countries, say good luck!

    Shameful.

    Are you drunk?

Let me spell this out clearly.

    I have 2 points I made above.

    1. That some people are being refused re-entry to America tonight despite holding valid Green Cards. Some of whom have family still in America.

    2. There's lots of other people, with no Green Cards, in Aleppo and elsewhere who are in grave danger. Including children.

America has turned its back on them.

Did zap not bring them all over ? I take it one is not to bothered with other children that are not ahem from Muslim areas ? I hear their are plenty of child slaves and soldiers in Africa. Ones argument was on not letting back in Green card carriers. Again if they are taking children to areas with that much danger they should be locked up yes ? Or not be travelling to the dangerous area ?

You're just trolling now as I refuse to believe you don't have basic reading comprehension.

Let me simplify this with an example:

American family move to Dublin. Husband, wife, 2 kids. One works in Intel. Goes on a business trip for a week abroad. Ireland then suddenly and arbitrarily says "tough luck mate, you're not getting back in, despite having valid permission to live/work here".

That's what's happening tonight. There's Green Card holders with legal standing to work/reside in America, being refused re-entry if they are a national of those 7 countries. They could have their wives and children at home waiting for them to come home and they won't get there.

Some of these people were on business trips in Europe.

As to your other point, I'm all for America (& Ireland for that matter) accepting refugees of all faiths, genders, ethnicity - whether it's an African child soldier, an atheist Russian seeking political refuge, a Muslim Syrian seeking not to die.

That's what America stood for - and for a long time. It's a nation of immigrants and supposed to practice "Christian" values of taking in the suffering.

You seem to be pretty cool with what Trump is doing. Dividing families who have previous legal standing to reside in America and depriving refugees of a path to America.

Ireland is dangerous for green card holders.. stop the press when did this happen ?

Lol Christian values, I thought they were Racist now ?

Maybe one should ask the question why the largest city on earth has never had any lads rocking up and blowing up the place I will give you a clue it's in Japan.

You can also loose the green card in 180 days.
