Church in Kilkenny.....not in the city

Can anyone suggest a church in Kilkenny not too far from the Lyrath hotel that would have an aisle wide enough to enable us to go out of the church together as a married couple rather than one having to follow the other.....? We are both wheelchair users. Looking for one that's not in the city.

There is a church out in Jenkinstown woods and the chairs can be moved. Beautiful area for photos too

You could try Gowran church. If you explain your needs they may be able to accommodate you. It's not far from The Lyrath Hotel either.

Is that St Mary's? It looks like an exhibition centre or something?

St. Mary's church is an old Protestant church. There's a Catholic church just about on the Kilkenny road. It's about 10 minutes from that hotel.

It's not derelict. I am a photographer and I done a wedding there only last year.

Foulkstown Church is just off the ring-road heading out the Waterford Road but I'm not sure what the spacing is like. I know its a small enough church but someone on here might be able to tell you a bit more about the layout.

Sorry but I dont think it would be suitable. Found this online and it looks very narrow without any room to slide back the pews a bit.

Yeah could see that alright from the video. I also saw a video link to the church in Paulstown which is just a bit further out but it's a no go either as it's almost identical to the Foulkstown one.

I know you said not i the city but Loughboy is just on the inside of the ring road but is a modern design so might have wide isles.

Loughboy is right in the middle of the SuperValu car park, so that's a no go either - definitely.

Presuming you are looking for a Roman Catholic church, wouldn't St. Mary's Cathedral be big and wide in terms of aisle and doorways?
I know you said no city churches, but other ones would tend to be smaller and narrower.

Yeah that carpark is mental at the best of times, I just wasnt sure if the church had a separate carpark down the side.

I texted my friend who's a priest and he say's "St. Fiacre's church is all on the flat. The rest have wheelchair access but usually side doors". St. Fiacre's is the one in Loughboy.

Clara church is small. My daughter sang for a wedding there so I had a good look at it. I don't think you'd get two wheelchairs down the aisle side by side.

How far out of the city are you prepared to go? With the M9 motor way you could be up to the Lyrath in half an hour from as far away as Mooncoin, which has a wide aisle, all on the flat, loads of parking and nowhere near a shopping centre car park.

Edit: Have you spoken to any priest from Kilkenny yet? A priest from the diocese would have a good idea of many of the churches and be able to point you in a certain direction.

Google maps - the blue line - doesn't seem to go all the way that lane on the map but it shows the houses down along and the church. I have no problem in finding it. Maybe you could pay a visit out there?

You replied to them and said you can't see the church. I see the gate of the church when I click the link and open it using either Chrome or Google maps.
