You have all that money and you want a gaff in Majorca? Have a bit of imagination!

Have you ever been to Majorca, outside Santa Ponsa.

Beautiful island with some very exclusive areas.

As long as the winners don't say ' it won't change me'.
You fúcking díckhead, its supposed to change you...I want to hear how he went off his rocker for coke and hookers for years, bought ferrari's and lambos and splashed out on mansions across the globe.
Ayone that says 'it won't change me' should be immediately slapped across the face, the cheque taken back and to get the fcuk out of the lotto building and don't come back till you get sense.

It would definitely change me, but I wouldn't buy a Lamborghini with the state of Irish back roads. Though I could probably afford to hire someone to repave the road along in front of me as I drive. The lamborghini would be kept at my chalet in Switzerland.

I'd be more inclined to take holidays than go for the coke and hookers. Though with that amount of money, I could possibly take the coke and hookers on holiday with me.

Or you could be like the sailors with a girl in every port :D
You only live once...you might as well do something interesting with it.
And when its all gone you can then write a book on how you spent it ..
prime example of a guy who said it wouldn't change him :D

A girl in every port would require some major lifestyle changes for me. I'm not sure €88m would change me that much ;)

Why so? If it was a syndicate it's a nice little bundle of cash and will make a group of people happy rather than just one.

Yeah, I am glad that it is a syndicate too. There should be more than enough to go around.

I was having Aston martin dreams last night. Was convinced that it was me who won it.

Genuinely think that amount of money would **** you up royally in this country. Don't get me wrong, I'm a greedy ****er but that amount of money marks you out for every lunatic out there. You're talking security tailing you for the rest of your days in this country. Anything under 10 million doesn't seem to attract the same attention. And yes I played it.

Anyone who goes public after winning the lottery is an idiot.
You keep it private and come up with some other reason to explain to your friends/relatives why you gained a lot of money. Investments, inheritance etc.

Anyone who goes down the local boozer and announces to the world they won the lotto or tells anyone who will listen is a ****ing idiot.

Whatever about a syndicate increasing your chances of winning, imagine luck of that magnitude shining on you for the barest instant and you end up with about 3 million out of 88 million.

You say it like it's a bad thing? It's a fantastic amount of money to win. Fair f***s to them all.great to hear it was a large group. May they all enjoy every minute of it. On another plus for locals, there'll be a few vacancies listed in the next few days in J+J!

Boylesports the dummies decided to run a market for which county had the winning ticket. Won't stand to make near the money the euromillions winners will, but 7/1 for Cork will be handfuls of free money considering it was all but a certainty before the news broke it this morning. Cheers Boyles

    This post has been deleted.

RTE News just now broadcast from Cork and mentioned the local Johnson & Johnson syndicate. they added that this was "speculation" but I'd say there's one big party going on down there right now so until officially confirmed, RTE won't come right out and say it.

So the Cork factory workers syndicate thing was a myth and it turns out it was a Dublin family?

Just shows how stupid gossip spreads, and frankly Cork people are among the worst gossips I know.

The media frenzy is a disgrace. Apparently they asked the Cork based company to comment on the rumours and the company (quite correctly) refused to comment.

I turned on Newstalk this morning and Pat Kenny was interviewing someone like it was a hot current affairs topic about how the speculation was xyz, and what the implications would be for the town, and presumably 10 minutes more rubbish along those lines (I turned over after about 20 seconds once I realised what the subject was).

Delighted to see all the media made complete fools of in this instance :D
