I saw a good point on Reddit earlier..

Because of the hate the media and a lot of the public have for him, everything he does and America does is going to be under massive scrutiny. That includes all the bad stuff that usually happens but the media never bothers talking about. Arms deals, privacy laws etc.

I think it will wake a lot of people up to the reality that the government isn't just Obama giving motivational speeches and it will end up making people care about some important stuff.

This "alternative" thing is getting old so fast.. I thought it would take longer for me to start rolling my eyes every time I see it.

It got old the moment it left Kelly Ann Conway's mouth. It deserves every bit of criticism it has got, and will continue to get for quite some time.

Billions to be spent on a vanity wall that will be circumvented with rope ladders.

There are supposedly 50000 illegal Irish in the US, so the wall will definitely ensure that number doesn't increase.

What does that even mean? 50,000 illegal Irish who overstayed their visas. Are you saying that Trump won't give holiday visas to the Irish anymore?

Just gonna leave this here. It's the 14 characteristics of fascism. There's at least 10 that fit Trump's rule pretty well, and almost all could fit the description of him. I know the Trump crowd will dismiss it, but it's worth analysing and comparing for any rational thinker around here.

Anyone who thinks he's being dumb with this "investigation" into the millions of "fake votes" is underestimating him. He's gonna suppress voters even more and further limit democracy. This is clear totalitarianism and it's ****ing scary how quickly he's progressing America towards fascist rule.

It's pretty obvious the fake votes/investigation nonsense is just trying to take attention away from what he's really been at the last 5 days also, he's becoming predictable like that but then again the media will surely bite and go for the easy click bait over the actual important story.

But that wasn't criticism. It was the wrong guy..

Making a random comment saying "Nothing is "wrong" anymore, that is just an "alternative" guy." is just boring and is honestly getting really old. I've seen the same sort of thing at least 50 times today alone all over boards and reddit.

I give it till the weekend and people will stop.

Those too are hallmarks of a dictator.

It's hysteria and it's getting old. Every single thing he says and does is going to be wailed against by the sore losers. It's getting embarrassing.

Did you actually read my post ?

Nobody is all of a sudden surprised he's building that wall. They're merely saying it won't do anything to stop people crossing the border.

Would you rather people just accept whatever he does and not complain if they don't like it ?

America is now in the hands of a Dictator. The media and people watching thought he was only joking, misspoke and he would never ban muslims from coming to the United States or he would build a wall. Well you seeing the real Donald in action now and it will be nothing less than horrific.

Just off them points alone would not categorise him as a dictator in my opinion. He's only in the job a few days. Immigration of Muslims needs to be slowed down until the ME situation stabilises. I only wish Europe did the same instead of having a couple of hundred undocumented terrorists roaming freely around the continent. I'll admit the first signs are not good but give him a few months. Some of his policy makes sense for the American people.

That's what I was responding to. I believed he would do it, and I was responding to a poster he said people didn't. And if they didn't they're naïve at best. It was a campaign promise.

At this stage I think if the Donald cured cancer there would be outrage in the media and on the streets because of all the doctors he put out of a job

Except it is a criticism, because anyone is free to claim anything about anyone in any context at any time now and just say it's "alternative" by the standards laid out by TrumpCo. Kids are free to say 2 + 2 = turquoise, and that their answer isn't wrong it's just the "alternative" correct answer. Needless to say their teachers won't stand over that, but that's because their teachers would hold those children to a higher standard than the office of the President of the United States holds itself right now. Just think about that for a moment.

I reckon it's got more legs with how applicable it is in so many areas, but we'll see!

Oh yeah, what he's been up to the last few days is definitely in line with curing cancer. No question there.

Also he's putting a photo of the inauguration crowd in front of the press. You'll note that the photo even has the incorrect date on it.

People aren't used to politicians actually doing what they said they would. Everyone is a bit shocked :D

Honestly this is true. Can't believe how quick he is signing off stuff. No debate or discussion, just getting it done.

I'm finding the whole thing fascinating (not in a good or bad way) Certainly a new type of politics.

That's a positive if you're talking about a cashier in Tesco. It's very much the opposite when you're talking about the leader of one of the world's most powerful countries.

There was plenty of debate and discussion on all these topics during the primaries and the election campaign. He's in now, time to do what he said he would.

Alienate most of the world in some way or another and actually go through with his nonviable vanity projects?

I think you underestimate the number of people across the world who are leaning more and more to his and his supporters way of thinking. And nonviable says you and CNN.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to tick of things as a characteristic of fascism.. Do you actually believe he's the new Mussolini?

    1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism -
"Our Best America Yet!" - used by Gary Johnson's campaign, common but unofficial slogans include "Make America Sane Again" and "Feel the Johnson"
"Hillary For America" – used by Hillary Clinton's campaign
"A New American Century" – used by Marco Rubio's campaign.
"Reigniting the Promise of America" – used by Ted Cruz's campaign
"Kasich For America" – used by John Kasich's campaign
"Believe in America" – 2012 U.S. Presidential slogan of Mitt Romney.
"America's Comeback Team" - 2012 U.S. Presidential slogan of Mitt Romney after picking Paul Ryan as his running mate
    etc.

    2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights -
    Afghanistan / Iraq
    Guantanamo Bay
Obama enacts a law allowing indefinite detention of US citizens (NDAA 2013)

    3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause -
    Russia! Russia! Wikileaks!

    4. Supremacy of the Military -
This is just America all over.

    5. Rampant Sexism -
Nothing by other Presidents or Trump, yet. We're talking about institutionalized here, not comments made in the past.

    6. Controlled Mass Media -
    Obama spying on journalists
Obama repeals law so government can use propaganda on citizens

    7. Obsession with National Security -
    America in general.

    8. Religion and Government are Intertwined -
    America in general.

    9. Corporate Power is Protected -
    America in general.
Obama oversaw a law that allows pretty much unlimited donations.

    10. Labor Power is Suppressed -
    Not sure.

    11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts -
EPA stuff if you count it as disdain against intellectuals. But in reality, fascism is about getting rid of them.

    12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment -
    America in general.
What did Hillary call them? Super Predators?

    13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption -
    America in general.
Wikileaks show appointments to big donors.
Nearly had fourth President from two families.

    14. Fraudulent Elections -
People high up in Democrat SuperPacs / Movements on tape talking about blatant voter fraud.

    See? Utter BS.

I forgot to add [sarcasm] around that. Substantial numbers of illegals (including from Mexico) are people who arrived legally and didn't leave.

The wall is a vanity project as there is a significant terrain that doesn't need it due to being so hostile for transit.

Grayson, can you stop with the spam. All those tweets were already posted here a few times, we all saw them. And the giant meme is pathetic. National embarrassment to one half of the country maybe.

I went back through the last 10 pages and yes, one of them was posted. And the meme isn't giant. I had posted one photo and saw it was big so I immediately posted a smaller one.

And he's an embarrassment for the US. It's not just US voters who get to decide if he's embarrassing. We all do.

BTW, remember, even if it's just the US voters, most of them don't like him. He lost the popular vote (Unless you have any evidence to prove otherwise) and he's the least popular incoming president in modern history. Previous presidents had to start unpopular wars to get to the stage he's starting at. Even bush has more popularity when he started off and that was after the Florida debacle.

Finally, you might not like what I post but I don't post falsehoods like you did when you said that the current president of Iran was a holocaust denier (Notice that I said falsehood, not lie, because I don't know if you actually knew he wasn't the president anymore).

So give it a break and address the issues. Address what Trump said rather than making ad hominems against other posters.

You'd probably be shocked if I told you that Obamacare was literally forced private insurance. That's not healthcare. It's a joke of a thing.

Yes and someone else pointed out that was from a previous president, I replied to him agreeing, I got that wrong. Not sure how you missed that.
