The General Flynn links to Russia were debunked.

    Poor Kellyanne.

    Tough business for everyone involved.

Nobody's condoning death threats, and she might be rattled, but this is disingenuous.
Because of what the press is doing now to me, I have Secret Service protection,

The media asking her to tell the truth made some nut job send her a hoax threat?

I don't think there's any such thing as a hoax threat in America. Any loon can pick up a gun handy enough and start shooting at people for any reason.

Fair enough, I'm not defending the person making the threat.

Good, we can put this behind us now.

Much like everyone put HC e-mails behind them when the FBI said they were happy with it.....oh wait!

Once again, not my point, but the report said suspicious white substance. If it was anthrax or something similar they would have said.

I was over it the day the results were announced..

That does not change the FACTS.

FACT 1: Trump won the election.

FACT 2: Clinton received the most votes by a few million votes.

Why can't you accept facts? Or are you an alternative fact kind of person?

But Fact 2 has no material relevance to anything at all whatsoever so why is it so important to you?
I'm sure that other presidents have won the election without winning the popular vote before, but only now is it a major issue according to you.
    Why is that?

I'm interesting in seeing the new report on hacking that will come out in a few months time. Obama himself admitted a few days before Trump was inaugurated they had nothing linking Russia to Wikileaks, this is after Clapper said the same thing in a press hearing. It's entirely possible that Russia did indeed hack the DNC, but the source for Wikileaks is a different entity. Some reports claim it was Guccifer, who Obama's administration tried to smear as a Russia agent. Perhaps this time there will be something with proof rather than a document claiming RT television is some sort of mind control program.

I would have thought that was fairly standard for members of his administration? Obamas closest advisor had Secret Service protection as well. It hasn't anything to do with the medias treatment of her, it's just idiots being idiots hopefully they'll be arrested.

There are far too many loony liberals out there with bad intentions for it to be simply dismissed as a hoax.

Some of Donalds thoughts on the electoral college when Obama won
“He [Obama] lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!”

“The phoney [sic] electoral college made a laughing stock out of our nation. The loser one!”

We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!

This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!

    And after his victory
The Electoral College is actually genius in that it brings all states, including the smaller ones, into play. Campaigning is much different!

Yes, totally hypocritical, nobody in their right mind can defend that.

That said, after he won he's hardly going to come out and say he isn't legitimate and the person with the most votes should win. By making the initial comments he put himself into an unwinnable position, not a clever move if he knew he was going to be running a few years later.

Even if it is real, how is it the medias fault as she stated?

Unless her name is kept secret, the media are going to report what she says. If that is enough to trigger death threats, what are the media supposed to do?

So? It doesn't change the fact that winning the popular vote doesn't win you the White House and instead of whining and kvetching maybe you should look into getting to the bottom of why so many young people didn't come out to vote
BTW I'm a fan of neither candidate I'm just shocked at the refusal of the losing side to accept that the American citizens had an opportunity to vote to keep Trump out of the White House and they JUST DIDNT TAKE IT!!
And worse, they then want to spend the next 5 years moaning because the people who DID come out to vote didn't vote for the right person!
    Please stop.

The local school idiot lit my ponytail on fire once on the school bus. Just for the craic cause he was bored. You get idiots everywhere. I don't tend to read too much into that other than there are people everywhere who shouldn't be left out. Unfortunately, they get attracted to public events and gatherings where they can have an audience.

Sometimes even the wrong cars. Trump supporters set up a gofundme page for the guy so if his insurance doesn't come through hopefully he'll still be alright.

I'd agree that those people are doing democracy wrong. It's just 4 years, live with it.

But minority groups like Blacks or Mexicans have a very different perspective on America than Trumps supporters. They're clearly afraid things are going to get very bad for them. Plenty of people are scared that Trump is going to ruin the American economy by being isolationist in a global world.

These people started out scared and got whipped up into a frenzy of hysteria.

The problem is everyone's more than happy to continue that negativity, we prefer the conflict have have no interest in any kind of compromise. Just like extremest in religion we now have extremists (on both sides) in political debate that want their way to win out.

There's two aspects to the electoral college system.

The first is each state is designated a certain amount of votes based on it's population + 2. The reason here is to ensure smaller states are giving a larger voice, an important factor in creating the federal system of a united states in the first place. This is a good thing if you ask me.(And what Trump was agreeing with).

The second aspect is most states reward all their electoral votes to whoever wins their state, rather than divide them up proportionally. This is the main problem. And not just because of the results like we had where someone loses the popular vote. It means than millions of Americans vote doesn't matter. Republicans in California or New York have no point voting as all that states delegates are going to the Democrats. It's the same problem for Democrats in the likes of Texas and Alaska etc. It also means US elections come down to a hand full of swing states, giving disproportionate importance to their voters and their issues, rather than the nations as a whole.

Who won the popular vote in theses circumstances doesn't matter, as it isn't inclusive, and not a representation of what the results would have been under a different system.

Now on reform. The system is archaic, and needs changing. But this is hard.
Remember, this isn't a national system, you can't reform it at a national level. Not all states vote in bloc like this and they don't have to. It's down to the individual state and the state Senate can change this if they want to.

The reasons they don't are, first of all, it would reduce the voting power the state has in national elections as whoever candidate wins, would receive less votes from the state, and reduces the importance of wining that state, and the focus that state and it's voters gets during the elections. The other reason is whoever controls the state senate is usually the same party who normally wins the state in elections, therefore reforming would hurt their own party and help the opposition.

Edit: To be clear, you can reform the whole system on a national level, remove it all together, but how each state choses to divide their votes is down it each state.

Funny enough Obama actually won the popular vote. Twice.

    Alternative facts be damned.

Imo setting people on fire isn't idiocy, it's evil. It's a different story for some young kid in school who doesn't know any better. If she was plastered in hairstray or whatever else it could have been extremely serious.

Yes Dubbwa Bush first election in 2000 was the last time a president won without a popular vote.

These are all important rights and should not be revoked.

I despise the SJW movement as much as anyone else, but let's be honest and say the Alt-Right movement is just as bad, just coming from the opposite direction.
Nope - Alt-Right is way worse than 'SJW.' SJW's mostly annoying. Alt-right's evil and criminal.

So, no, not going to say that AT ALL. Alt-Right's way worse than whatever you think SJW is. Really do we have to point that out to you?
