    Did Obama ?

I didn't think he did a bad job all things considered. 60% of the American public think that he did a good job. From what I saw and read, he certainly seems to be an intelligent, principled and thoughtful person with lots of charisma.

Germany seems to be going well. Anti Trump protest and they're shouting Allah Akbar

    https://twitter.com/Holbornlolz/status/822966907905146881?s=09

They should go and shout that in front of the victims of the Truck. F*cking clowns. I'm sorry that just made my blood boil.

I find it worrying that one of the earliest press briefings given by this White House Press Secretary involved a lie that was both blatant and still really petty. Doesn't it show a worrying lack of regard for the truth, their credibility, and honestly their respect for their office. That one was absolutely clear cut. And then it was backed up by Kellyanne Conway talking about "alternative facts".

If this is the reaction to comments about the size of his crowds, would you see reason for concern over the reaction to something more important?

Your worried because they lied about the crowds...ah for gods sake, its hardly WMD is it?

Apparently it's being said that at Trump's CIA visit he had his own supporters in the room cheering.

CIA people there said it was not them cheering for him like that.

Trump claimed the CIA staff cheered for 5 minutes. All propaganda.

Much of the left media published photos of empty fields compared to Obama's trying to instigate the idea that nobody showed up at his inauguration. They're trending non stop over twitter. The real photos show the inauguration was packed at the time Trump was to be sworn in. If the media wasn't dishonest they'd be no backlash.

Don't worry about the 'broken system' at all. Trump won't be fixing a system that allowed him to pay less tax for the past twenty years than a janitor in one of his hotels .

Go on then, produce your alternative facts.

Any chance you have a link to those real photos?

There are plenty side by side, Obama will probably be the largest in history thus far. But hardly no one there for the Trump. Security, Where people voted weather all played a part.

Even if he made it up, it's just alternative facts, we can use those now according to the Donald and co.

I dont believe in all the Donald says.
Id like to see for myself first.

Basically there are three ways of not paying tax. Make a loss, avoid tax or evade tax.
    four, get a refund

Link? The timelapse video showed the photo to be quite accurate.

But that's the point. It doesn't matter. But what -does- matter is that the automatic reaction to this, just like any other thing they don't like, is to lie. No thinking, no real consideration for if it even makes sense or is remotely credible, just lie.

That's the point though. Don't care about the actual crowd-size pissing contest. Do care that even for a mere pissing contest the reaction was outright lie rather than look bad.

A refund usually implies you've overpaid in the first place. To have overpaid, you would have to pay tax. I'm going to guess that Trump hasn't been getting refunds for twenty years.

Wheres the link for the CIA crowd thing you mentioned?
    apologies wrong poster

They all played a part of course. The whole crowd thing wouldn't be a big deal at all if it wasn't for the noise Don's making about it - seemed fairly in line with most pre-Obama crowds.

Aye Obama is an exception, Mix of Genuine people and Rush of blood to the heads. The next big one will be a woman I'm guessing or openly LGBT.

I'm confused. Are you saying the bottom photo is a lie....or an alternative fact? Both pictures show a large crowd gathered around the Capitol but the Mall much emptier than Obama.

Doesn't include your one specifically, but the image at the end looks a hell of a lot more like it supports the image in the time lapse.

Although I've been eyeing your stage-back image for the last while trying to work out if that is an optical illusion working off the pattern from the overhead shot. Those gaps might be just the right length to allow it to look "full" from a forward view for the cameras with X smaller number. I suspect it might be to some extent - those tricks for the cameras (with no malice intended, just TV and the person onstage naturally wants to see a big crowd) are pretty common.

    Perspective is a liberal conspiracy.

Need to include a link, Hank wasn't aware of such a concept. He must be worried of the latest terrorist attack.

I'm betting on the one from an entirely different angle that doesn't show the empty areas.

Unless Conway's banged together an MS paint job since.

Give yourself a pat on the back!

They are both photos of Trumps inauguration, I don't see how that proves your point. he got a small crowd compared to Obama but I don't see why anyone would be surprised by that? He is hugely unpopular and D.C would be a more democrat leaning area so not many of the people who live around there would have voted for him. Plus the weather was crap.

His response to the media accurately reporting the crowd numbers was worrying though. It's just so bizarre, he made his press secretary tell a blatant and obvious lie for no good reason.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,078 ✭✭✭HellSquirrel

    I'm kinda disappointed it wasn't option b :(
    Me too.

Although there it is - we just had to spend two pages pointing out that the accusations of conspiracy are ridiculous. The plain fact is that the White House Press Sec. lied and about something -trivial-. While berating the press corps for daring to comment on it.

That is not a good start for any democratic administration. This is absolutely a warning bell, or should be.

No, I'm not saying that. Trumps crowd was smaller than Obama's and he was wrong to say he had over a million or whatever. My point is the media purposely attacked him for having attendances that were never going to match that of Obama's.

Bill Clinton had 200,000 for his second term, George W Bush 300,000 etc.

I don't disagree with the people calling him out for saying that.

It's bizarre. Why lie over something of such little consequence?

It's like Willie O'Dea saying he never pointed the gun at the camera. 😂😂😂

Right, so you agree that the Press Sec flat-out lied on behalf of the administration to "win" an extremely petty cosmetic point which was blatantly provable. Do you think that's a warning sign?

Exactly, and not only was it something irrelevant but it was immediately obvious that it was a lie.
