Its downloading on my BTU S7 Edge now :) (I was on the beta before)

I got my phone from t-dimension, its CSC is from the UAE.

    So i have;

1: Backed up my S7 Edge via Samsung Smart Switch
2: Downloaded latest BTU firmware from sammobile
3: Odin is installed and ready

If I enable the pin lock before i update the phone with BTU, my data on the phone will not be erased?

Will doing this method change the CSC also to UK along with the firmware?

    Hi guys

Just a quick question. Looking to buy a gear VR 2 and just wondering will my s7 edge fit in it with a tempered glass screen protecror. Don't really want to remove this if the fit is too tight. Thanks for any help.

Can anybody point me in the direction of the stock firmware for UK BTU? I found one yesterday and installed through Odin but when I did a system update afterwards it seems to have gone back to the Vodafone version.

Do I need to get a separate CSC perhaps?

You have to erase data to properly change CSC as far as I know. Otherwise you flash your 'home csc' to keep data but I don't think it changes properly then.

Pin is used because the phone used to ask for a pin sometimes after flashing even if you did not have one before.

This is for the Edge version only. Still marshmallow for the time being but nougat should OTA update in next couple of weeks I'd say.

You flash 4 files in Odin, using the CSC you downloaded. Phone will be wiped. Set up pin for screen lock to be on the safe side.

There is a faster place to download these, I did post it here a good while ago but can't remember the site.

I use the one below. Looks nice and I never see it anyway near the top on battery stats. I think I may have had to pay a euro or pound for it though, can't check when I'm logged in on the play store.

you can use your three credit to buy apps... just in case anyone didn't know.

my phone is randomly slowing down the house internet connection. No idea what it's doing and haven't got a chance to wire shark it yet. But I'll feel the internet go slow and ping anything and have a 500ms ping, go find the phone, put it on aeroplane mode and the internet instantly goes back to normal on all the other devices.

No idea why the router QOS is allowing this, or what is actually happening on the phone to do this..

I flashed from Eir to BTU some weeks ago (made sure my CSC has changed to BTU afterwards). Had an update for December security patch since. Shouldn't I be getting the Nougat update ? Or is it only people on the beta program getting it for the time being ?

I didn't bother with the pin stuff. My phone obviously got erased. Went with CSC as Home CSC is used for flashing back to stock according to Sammobile . After the flash I booted into recovery and cleared the cache. Afterwards my CSC was changed to BTU.

    Last option in link below

    3. If you want to install another country firmware, or wipe your phone, then use

    BL
    AP
    CP
    CSC

    Odin settings:
    Re-partition
    F.reset time
    Auto reboot

CAUTION: This CSC contains a PIT file that will wipe your existing data and return your phone to 'out of the box' or will install another country/network firmware

Interested in this.... But what would quality be like? I've heard that some of the cheaper wireless chargers are crap..

    No idea to be honest.

For what it's worth, I got an ikea-branded wireless charger and it works very well, no problems. Not all third party chargers are crap.

Jeez I think I somehow damaged my S7. About just below halfway the touch screen wasn't registering my finger. I dialled *#0*# and did the touch check. Wouldn't you know it about 3/5's of the way down the touch screen goes screwy!

Never had trouble with a smartphone before....I'm not insured so am I totally fecked or is it reparable? Gulp!

If you get a new screen they probably replace the whole from section with the digitiser. I know for the S5 that's how it was done officially.

If you didn't drop it or anything I'd try and get it done under warranty.

Yeah only beta users are getting the Nougat update so far (outside of a small soak test)

Anyone have an idea of what could be causing my S7 Edge to bring my home internet to a standstill?

run a speed test 300+ ms ping, 2mb down, test fails on upload, on any device in the house

    10+ tests in a row,

    put phone on aeroplane mode,

28ms ping, usual download, usual upload speed

    turn aeroplane mode back off

within a minute it's back to 400ms ping etc etc.

not doing anything on the phone in particular.

Any ideas what it could be?! Can't be ****ed reinstalling android for the millionth time

Sorry if not the right thread but relates to my S7E. Anyone know what the turn around times for Samsung repair are? Sent phone away on Tuesday and lost without it.
