I'm delighted but this is very harsh on those who got rid of Alonso

Not really. 11 times in previous 14 he got 6 or more points. Wasn't as if he wasn't returning points.
Injury fear was an ongoing thing that was being managed

I don't have a wife but if I did I'd let Marcus have a go after that

To those who've been burnt by Alonso (and I'm not trying to lord it here, literally just giving my tuppence), you can't say this hasn't been coming.

He has had so many chances at scoring that a day like this seemed inevitable. It wasn't as if he was yellow flagged or there were major indications that he wouldn't play THIS week either.

At the same time it is never nice to miss out on so many potential points from a player, only for them to start loading up on those points the minute you get rid either. We've all been there. But I did feel in this case that those getting rid were being very premature, particularly with Hull at home next week.

Thank god he only has 8% ownership...It could be worse for non owners.

Have just caught with this thread (only) as the second Alonso goal went in.
Haven't logged in yet but it better be 80pts.
Very enjoyable especially having been at a funeral all day and using SSN only.

Lots to respond to but first up...You WC FutureGuy?

Sold Alonso today. So much talk about an injury and with Ake being recalled, decided to sell as I'm sick of uncertainty surrounding my players.

Absolutely sums up the season. Utterly punished.

    60 min BPS

Alonso with lots. Rest of Chelsea defence battling for the 2 and 1.

Hazard not in the running as it stands

Got rid of Alonso to facilitate getting in Giroud, didnt have a bad week so far but keeping him would have made it a great week. Chambers CS as his replacement is something at least

Alonso is just proof that you shouldn't read too much into every report you see. I over thought it, and got burned.

He's benefiting from Hazard playing centrally definitely unlucky not to have the hat trick there.

Away all day, just checking. Alonso you great man. On 73 with potential bonuses to 81.

    Whoop whoop

In fairness a Snapchat of him on a physio table with a few sad and angry emoij from Alonso himself was a bit more than a media report.

I agree. But after Friday, and Conte saying nothing, we probably should've assumed he'd play.

I don't mind getting burned. It's the nature of FPL. I just hate it when you seem to get horrendously punished for a call like that!

Not quite accurate. Re. the injury the extent wasn't known with rumblings that it was a persistent problem along with Aké recalled. Add in that quite alot were on wildcard and Chelsea, on the back of conceding twice in both their previous league games, had some tricky upcoming fixtures. So not at all an unreasonable move to make i don't think.
