    I agree. Remember Trump put the blame for the leak at their door. Given the leak was the document as it was before handing over to the fbi that seems unlikely.

    He didn't exactly throw them many bones with the Russia hack thing either. Even admitting he thought it was Russia he didn't mention them.

    Someone posted this on reddit, I guess it makes sense.

    I think it's a combination of:
    Good publicity.
    Knowing he didn't do anything illegal so in a fair trial he'd get acquitted.
    Believes Trump will get him a fair trial.
    US Prison is worse than Ecuadorian embassy but he still doesn't have freedom either way.
    US Government/intelligence will be compelled to release information about their WikiLeaks investigations.
    He may feel some sense of duty because WL was involved in Manning's imprisonment.

    The Chelsea Manning case is quite sad, gender change, suicide attempts and bouts in solitary confinement.

    New information just leaked and all the online reports were saying it was a hoax, I always said there was a possibility it was "true".

    I don't think it's crazy to have thought that at the time given the report consisted of Trump hiring hookers to piss on a bed Obama slept in etc.

    Aside from Russia does anyone still deny it? I mean I get Trump is trying to deflect from it but he finally admits it.

    Granted I haven't been paying attention to all the senators and reps. Have some of them still denied it?

    The point is you considered it more likely the FBI, John McCain, CNN and the rest of MSM were hoaxed by 4chan. You generously allowing a possibility that it wasnt a 4chan hoax just highlights your position on all things Trump.

    It was fairly ridiculous to give any credence to the idea that 4chan hoaxed serious people like the FBI, Senator McCain and the CNN simultaneously. It just highlights how Trump supporters will scramble for any straw, any ridiculous claim to defend their man.

    Don't worry about it Hank, just recognise yourself the extent to which your bias and your agenda is taking you into bizarre views about what is credible.

    EDIT: I checked the timeline.

    No intel agencies reported on the document until hours after the dump, up until then I wasn't sure either way. It was an unverified document dumped on the net. There was no report when it got dumped from the FBI or McCain so your talking out of your hole claiming I dismissed CNN FBI and McCain simultaneously. The Buzzfeed article itself said you should highly doubt the contents of the report, I did, until it got confirmed by a reputable source ( not cnn)

    When the report came out initially HOURS LATER about it being an ex UK military guy I knew where it actually came from.

    I said it would be insane if the intelligence agencies got duped.

    Second while the IC have lied in the past they try and make it harder to figure than asking someone on 4chan.

    The first press meeting in 126 days was Trump's fault

    4chan got Moot Time magazine’s most influential person award of the year in 2009, got singer Pitbull to perform at a Walmart in Alaska, started the cutting for Beiber craze, almost got Taylor Swift to perform at a school for the deaf and Kim Jong Un to the top spot by millions of votes in Time's person of the year 2012.

    So your claim that 4chan couldn't possibly have started this as a hoax is kinda unfair.

    FBI, McCain or whoever else didn't release anything about the document until hours after it leaked. What you're saying is unfair - the document was unverified and just dumped on the net. If they said it at the time it leaked it was a US intelligence agency document obviously or they knew where it came from I would believe them.

    I don't trust CNN at all.

    Sorry. Was arguing against the specific points you made before. I remember you were not definitive about the 4chan connection.

    Was defending fbi/cnn's ability to at least put some effort into a lie and should have made that clear.

    I think the 4chan story was obviously ridiculous thiugh as it didn't fit at all into other people's timeline and depended on too much to make it stand up to basic fact checking

    I was saying I wasn't definite about the 4chan connection long before any confirmation came that it was was a report from some ex officer. I was worried it was real, because if it was Trump was done. You guys are implying I would take 4chans word over the FBI's or something, that's not what happened.
