New question, if it's too obscure let me know.

A few years ago a batch of cheese was taken off the marked because it had turned completely blue. What was the cause?

    assume it was not fungus?

    Was it done deliberately?

No, it wasn't done deliberately, and it wasn't a fungus/mould that caused some 'marbling' like in Gorgonzola, Roquefort, etc.

No, the film was 'Hugo' and that has already been guessed, but in the other part of my question was 'Who was the famous person portrayed in that film'?

    Contamination from someone's hands?

    Some form of insect infestation?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 78,211 Mod ✭✭✭✭New Home

    No to the insect theory.

Contamination yes, but not necessarily from someone's hand. But what was the cheese most likely contaminated by? (Name the germ, if you will ;))

I knew I'd know the answer once I saw it. And then a couple of days ago, quite by accident, I came across the name online and knew that was the answer. However, I'm reluctant to give the name as I found it (albeit accidentally) online it feels like cheating.

I don't think anyone is going to get it at this stage. I know the movie only from awards and got the name - no idea of the character as I haven't seen it.

    Fire away :)

Close enough - Georges Méliès. Well done. :)

So, half a question to Irish Zeus, and the other half to quickbeam - fight to the death for the right to ask the next question! :D

Sticking with the movie theme: In what year was the first Jame Bond movie released? (Extra credit for the name)

    Dr. No, 1962.

Unless there's an unofficial one previous to that.

    Dr. No was 1962

    Edit... beaten to it.

Ah, wasn't sure if there was a trick earlier film in there somewhere :)

Another film related one (as I saw the film for the first time only recently).

In the film An American Werewolf In London, directed by John Landis, which future famous comedian played a bit role of "2nd Chess Player"?

Rewatched this recently. You must be referring to Rik Mayall.

As I said I watched it recently and saw him in it so I'm pretty confident. Heading home and won't be online tonight so I'll throw out another question.

What's actors real name is Leroy Harold Scherer, Jr?
