Modern Politics in the west, summed up by this election.

Bi-partisan is gone. No democrat will side with Thrump, just as Obama had before.

They will block acts just for the sake of it. Much like Europe where we strive to make everyone happy, while all the time we destroy our culture and identity in vain hope of multiculturalist Utopia.

I'm neither for nor against Thrump.I am for Nationlism, with legal migrations, I don't think open borders will work. We as a species are for ever to separatist.

Good luck to Trump in his role. Good luck to the states. Good luck to the illegal Mexicans, good luck to the illegal Irish. Good luck to Russia.

How many people on this forum actually believe anything they see on BBC news or Sky News or RTE news these days? I don't believe in any of them.

    You don't say!

If you did, you might be a tad better informed.
You carry on letting them brainwash you with propaganda. I certainly will not be taking the word of these establishments. What is annoying is having to pay for it (BBC).

I don't think the Democrats have the numbers in either house to block anything!

I notice the people arguing against this dossier being true don't seem to have applied a similar standard to the claims that 4chan made the entire thing up. In spite of the obvious amount of bull involved in it.

Nor did they apply a similar standard to Pizzagate.

The only hope I have out of what, at present anyway, looks like a car crash, it is that might teach us all and political parties in particular that this bi-partisan ship is against the true benefit of the country (whichever that is). For any company/organisation etc to succeed you need everyone working on the same page. It all fine to argue your point and make your case but once the decision is made then get on with it.

    Maybe that might happen.

I don't think you truly understand what propaganda is. Otherwise you wouldn't using the word in such a casual manner.

Sky News - "The source of the dossier making allegations about U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has been named as former MI6 officer Christopher Steele."

Hopefully that puts an end to all that deflection nonsense about 4chan.

The best thing was the fact that the very next question he took after that was from a Breitbart propagandist asking him how he was going to clamp down on the media.

The question is, is the MI6 dossier the same as the one provided by 4chan?

True or False, this Christopher Steele person needs to be brought to justice

Why, did he violate some lése majesté law against "m'God-Emperor"? :pac:

4chan's only relation to this is that they claimed to have made it. It's not their work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,363 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

4chan only ever claimed to be involved in order to discredit the dossier. They are not involved in any way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,830 ✭✭✭✭Grayson

The guardian have a history of the dossier here
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/11/trump-russia-report-opposition-research-john-mccain

The nuts thing is that this dossier has been floating around for ages. It was only released/leaked after it had been shown to the Trump team.

Why? There's no evidence he leaked it at all.

btw everyone, here's the BBC's history of the dossier

Ladbrokes are offering bettors 'even' odds that president-elect Donald Trump will leave office via impeachment or resignation by the end of his first term...

Interestingly, they are also offering 5/1 odds that Obama is still the sitting President on February 1st 2017.

However, PaddyPower appears to have 'jumped the shark' with its Trump proposition bets.

From 4/1 odds of being impeached in the first 6 months to 500/1 odds that Trump will paint the entire White House gold, there is something for everyone here...

So are Putin and the boys giving each other high fives in the Kremlin?

have they masterminded this for years?

The allegations in that report are a little more serious involving the Kremlin holding blackmail over him and his team corroborating with them. The American intel agencies are investigating these claims.
He has just tweeted that ha has no ties with Russia but this would seemt o tell otherwise:

    http://www.the-american-interest.com/2016/12/19/the-curious-world-of-donald-trumps-private-russian-connections/?utm_content=buffer55e4b&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Also, the FBI sitting on this investigation while rushing to publish a technical reopening of an investigation with Hillery is potentially just as big.

Practically all Trumps picks are very friendly to Russia and Russian interests. You could almost say Putin couldn't have a better US administration to deal with. Almost as if he picked it himself.

There is far too much smoke there. The golden showers aspect may or may not be true. I think people would be naive to believe Trump has not used prostitutes and his attitude to women is ... abnormal to say the least. Either way his links with Russia, Russia's assistance to Trump by tactically leaking DNC mails, Trumps handpicked Russia friendly team, and his almost pathological fear (?) of criticising Putin all point to a compromised POTUS. All unverifiable but people can see what is happening.

I think America may have good cause to appreciate the wisdom of its founders in using institutional checks and balances to limit the abuse of office by a POTUS. The Republicans have a majority but Trump is not a Republican President, and both know it. It is amusing to sit back and watch Trump engage in regular humiliating meltdowns and denials. The fake news and leaks that propelled him to the White House are cruel and fickle.

It's an Orwellian masterclass. He invented fake news with the Birth cert bvll****. Now he appoints himself one and only judge of what is or isn't fake news. And people are buying it.

    It's terrifying.
I'm betting he makes moves to restrict media and internet freedom the moment he takes office. Certainly within 100 days

I really think snl will have trouble if this goes on much longer. They will have trouble coming up with skits darter than reality. Guys like John Oliver who report these things in an amusing way won't have to put much work into their segments anymore though. Just read out what has happened lately and it will be comedy gold.

The arms industry and the intelligence agencies will let him stay on if he leaves them alone otherwise they may find a Mexican immigrant to do their dirty work.

^If even Fox News is siding against an incoming Republican PeeOTUS, just imagine how tough of a time he'll have with Congress where establishment Republicans hold the balance of power.
