Was that an exit of a pub car park?
If so, i would have called the garda.
Must have been pissed to **** up so badly

and very possibly the reason she was so happy to accept full liability!?!

Were the Guards called to the scene?

It was a pub carpark, but she works in the pub. No signs of booze having been consumed.

I think the reason for coming out so far is to get any kind of visibility of traffic coming from the other direction.
The fact that she works there, would explain her stopping point since she would have been aware of this already. Pity she neglected to check from the right first though.
They probably should have a no right turn out of that car park exit or put the exit somewhere else if possible.

Get to the point where you have right visibility, once that is clear move a bit forward and block the lane, but get visibility to the left. Not ideal, a bit Italian style - but safe.

Forgetting to check the right first is purely stupid.

unfortunately having a no right turn there would mean you have to turn left and head up the hills with no opportunity to turn round with the narrow nature of the roads.

There is another exit closer to the traffic lights which is on the video shortly before the tip. Its much wider and much easier to get out of, but involves driving through a car park to get to it.

It might be changed to entrance only though. If that's the case they should look at swapping the entrance and exit points.

    Big Time,

Dont even mention the dash cam if she's accepting full responsibility, just let it play out, but suddenly if you start getting phone calls from insurance companies saying this that or the other, having it all on (HD) video, is the most Ace of Aces to have up your sleeve.

And the logical corollary is that if you don't have a dash-cam when this happens, you step out cool as a cucumber and tell the other driver that you caught the whole thing on dash-cam, to 'keep them honest' when they make the report to their insurance company.

Thankfully I just got a call from her insurance company accepting all liability. It's a big relief. They will contact me later about getting the damage assessed and a courtesy car.

Just tread carefully here. I have seen these so-called "admissions" from insurance companies being withdrawn and they will suddenly put liability at issue again. Most will low-ball you from the outset and it can be tricky negotiating with them as they can get quite bullish etc.

Feel free to PM me if you want fuller discussion. Don't want to derail this thread too much.

Good thing they hit him with a suspended sentence so he wont be able to do that again
There are fairly obvious public policy reasons for not putting 17-year-olds in prison.

Looks like he was evading arrest too so why such a lenient sentence ?? Or did that cop car just happen to be there ? 😎

That's actually as good a display of parking I've ever seen in Newtown. Abandonment of cars better describes the parking arrangements of the locals.

I love tedpan's videos purely because of the music :D

But whenever I go to Dublin I'm terrified for the cyclists going in an around the cars and buses

Yeah, you need to be cautious with cyclists, but some of them have a death wish!

I don't think it's a coincidence that 2 of the 3 cyclists you point out were deliveroo cyclists. They don't have a great rep for being road savy.

The quays are absolutely lethal on a bike when obeying the rules, let alone that kind of s**t.
