She's very mono tone, Chris is political correctness on legs, so the two of them combined are truly painful, Ivan and Chris were excellent in the morning, Yates been/acting un pc was a perfect contrast to Chris, hook was much better for the drive home than these two

Close thread this is what is wrong with Newstalk Drive.

That's exactly what going on there's nothing to make you warm to them

Chris O'Donoghue is just pathetic at this stage.

I think the show is further to the left of Global Village at this stage.

Does anyone else notice that Sarah has no discernible personality whatsoever? She hasn't a jot of interest in music, doesn't seem to be into movies or sport, and seems clueless about pop culture in general. Is she a robot? I don't get any sense of her as a person, she seems like a complete blank. It's very hard to warm to someone like that.

Does Chris have any of those interests either? If she has no personality then he definitely hasn't. Truly dreadful who has been given far too many opportunities considering his lack of ability.

"And Trump did this.. and and and Trump did that. "

Can somebody babysit Chris Donoghue and let Newstalk get a man in to the studio to present the show.

Pee wee Herman is a bit obsessed with Trump alright, but shur that's the basic Irish media for you.

There should be a 'warning' for motorists coming home from work and listening to this show.
It's hard to take in the content when the voices are so boring and mono toned. They would put
you to sleep - not entertaining, not funny, not that I have managed to listen to it for long!

Anyone hear the simpleton McKean up around the Falls Road. Talk about a man totally out of place.

"Here I have a man tucking into a pint of Harp Lager"

    FFS who talks like that?

This was one of NT's most listened to timeslots when Hook was presenting. What were the numbers like for Chris and Sarah in the most recent JNLR?

I don't listen to the show at all so can't comment on it. Asides from OTB the odd night I've pretty much given up on Newstalk.

Trouble is there's not much choice is there - over on Today FM you have Matt Cooper guffawing loudly over his own jokes and on RTE Mary Wilson would bore the pants off you. Shorter programmes with some real news as opposed to opinions would welcome.

I don't have quite the same level of disdain as some here (and plenty away from here) have for Chris-Sarah but the show is no fun anymore, although he could have been a bit of a gob****e at times I always liked Hook.

I find myself listening to The Last Word more and more now, Matt Cooper is okay, better than these two.

Many negative changes at Newstalk in 2016. Really annoyed at shortening Moncreiff and the new morning and drive time shows are fairly boring, I know that any new show will go through a period of growing pains but it wasn't like this (to this extent) with Off The Ball when the previous team resigned 4 years ago, it wasn't quite the same but it has still remained a reasonably entertaining show, it's a fairly solid format of a show. I tried to give the new shows last year a chance but they just don't retain my interest :(

I'd say he was getting really stuck into the jars by the time henry was finished.

If you think he's bad, you shouLd the size of the boner Matt Cooper has for Donald Trump.

I can safely say that the female tv critic who was just on there was the worst tv critic I've ever heard. Her content and style were both atrocious and I see Newstalk are continuing in their quest to have at least one presenter/contributor representing every single regional accent in the country - though tbh I have no idea where she was from. She was to the tv segment what Alan Quinlan is to sport.

Who is that one reviewing TV? Comes across like a complete smart ass. Sounds like she has some sort of speech impediment. Movie guy is ok.

Have actually somewhat enjoyed it the last few days because Sarah was gone. Liked her replacement, can't think of his name.

Unfortunately he won't be sticking around. Won't help meet the clunge quota you see...

That's Ciaran Cuddihy. He was great on the morning show, when he stood in for any of the squares there, and he's good standing in for Sarah.

Minister Pascal Donohue is on both Newstalk and TodayFM now at the same time.
    Very confusing.

Shona Murray will be at the inauguration, with a head on her like a lemon, just as she has been since her horse didn't come in.
