The problem with the right hook was that it was a whole show dedicated to hook showing us how much he knows topics, he waffles for 5min and the guest is only there to verify what hook says.

I listen to 2fm for my intellectual drive time radio these days :)

If you mean Hook's new "High Noon" show I would agree, but that's setting the bar very low.

Not this time, twas the old Right Hook i ws referring to. Yep.

constant agressive interrupting that passes for an interview

    woeful presenter:mad:

Newstalk was about the only radio station I had tuned in and would listen to driving to or from work. But even before the changes I was losing interest and going full time spotify/podcasts.

Tried tuning in there a few weeks back and jut couldn't hack it. Which is a pity, I like keeping up to speed on the general politics of the day/week but couldn't handle the shows

How bad is it? I'm not sure at present because I punched the steering wheel one too many times a few months ago and decided that it was best to turn the dial for my own and others safety.

    Stop. Interrupting. People. You. Rude............

She's beyond doubt the most irritating radio presenter out there... and that's saying something. I'm annoyed even typing this and I'm fairly relaxed by nature.

I am surprised that Sarah didn't agree with what Arlene Foster said about misogyny, because I would have thought she would have agreed with her !!!

............which what Miss Foster said is total rubbish

Doesn't matter if he had 10 ministerial pensions, he was good as host of Newstalk Breakfast. A young person, no matter how intelligent, won't have the insight he has.

She was particularly bad yesterday . I switched off at 4.45ish as she basically shouted down her guest from the off. Whats the point in having guests if you are just going to talk over them at all times?

yep. Been a long time Newstalk listener 7 days a week, even that India waun was listened to, just to annoy myself

But good grief, thank god for spotify these days. Radio is so rubbish at times

Even if these presenters were agreeable, they ALL do more or less the same topics on each show. Eg rugby rugby rugby (seems fashionable now a days) and the usual current affairs (which is a bit understandable)

I heard that start of this yesterday, they were on about overcrowded a&e rooms.

Chris said he was sick and "the last place he would be going was to the emergency room".

He had a cold/stuffed nose by the sounds of it,why the f**k would he need to go to a hospital?!?

Well considering there was interview with fruitloop who had a bit of the stomach pain and was sent home with Panadol after waiting 11 hours or something, I wouldn't be surprised if people with cold show up there.

The two of them were like first year schoolboys, talking inane juvenile crap.

talking about warnings needing to be put on news articles in the papers now (here its the IT) as it may offend.

i keep thinking someone should text it "warning : snowflakes may be triggered by the following article"

    :D:D:D:D

i swear this generation has disappeared up their own arses.

I'd say he's stuffed up regularly to be honest.
He's such an idealistic, naive child it's unbelievable.
and Sarah's voice, the dragged out ahhhhhhhhh after every sentence is enough to get the noose out

Sarah's interview with RBB yesterday was just a total carcrash. I was quite surprised that RBB didn't get up and leave, as you could hear the frustration in his voice whenever he was allowed to get a word in. She really is out of her depth on radio, IMO. She just proves that not all print journalists can transition to radio and make a success of it. Chris is at best, average but bearable. Maybe Richard Chambers or Kieran Cuddihy should be given the chance instead of Sarah? Switching to Matt Cooper is fast becoming more appealing by the day.

i liked kieran cuddihy on breakfast with shane coleman, he at least seems natural

Have to agree with the consensus. Drive isn't great and your one Sarah does my head in and constantly sounds like she's stumbling over words in every sentence. As others have said I think the problem is Chris and her are too similar and can come across very condescending.

Ivan and Chris were great on the breakfast show they should be the new Drive of they can get Ivan back.

You're a part of this generation too.

And virtually nobody is talking about warnings on news articles. Majority of people are merely objecting to the publishing of the article in the first place.

The generalising generation remains the same as ever I see.

Does anyone else notice that Sarah has no discernible personality whatsoever? She hasn't a jot of interest in music, doesn't seem to be into movies or sport, and seems clueless about pop culture in general. Is she a robot? I don't get any sense of her as a person, she seems like a complete blank. It's very hard to warm to someone like that.

She's very mono tone, Chris is political correctness on legs, so the two of them combined are truly painful, Ivan and Chris were excellent in the morning, Yates been/acting un pc was a perfect contrast to Chris, hook was much better for the drive home than these two
