If right was right instead of political rather than scientific basis for these descions every tank, lagoon, pit and tower in the southern half of the country at least would be empty to the sump today and the work done in perfect conditions. Couldn't have got it more wrong if they set out to fck it up from the start. A neighbour got it right. The day before New year's eve he had a 4k and a 2.5k tank working from dawn to dusk literally. Probably put out 120k gals plus that day. Still hasn't seen a drop of rain. Forecast for next week broken at best. But an arbitrary data in a calender will have passed.

He still broke the rules. So if the council /dept landed would he still be right? I nearly wouldn't sleep after going out with a load of water!!!

Saying that a good bit of stuff went out here before closing date. Looks fierce well and it's just waiting for abit of heat and urea.

In other news out esteemed board members are setting themselves up to blow a cool €200,000,000 on glanbia agribusiness. Rumour I heard today. Talk about monkeys with the key to the banana plantation.
    Where did you hear/see this?

Back at last (last night in fact) but straight into field with the vet to treat a colicking pony - unfortunately without success.

20 hours travel followed by 7 hours in the mud with no time to change clothes and a temperature drop of 30 odd degrees. I'm well and truly home.

Thankfully everything but that pony thriving happy, and she went quietly after a very long life, so plenty to be cheerful about.

Did I miss anything? Twelve days away felt like an age, especially with 17 in laws. At one point I caught myself wondering how to put clusters on an Iguana.

There isn't a huge direct cost saving in vet bills but hassle is massively reduced and calf performance is much higher.

Nice little surprise in my latest vet's bill. Balance was just over€300 on December account. Vet wrote it all off as a discount.

No . Used to pay another vet by direct debit. Money would be gone from your account before you could check bill. After being overcharged a few times I put a stop to it. Current vet is happy for me to pay each month myself. Will pay on the day if I can.

Will be a fair change having a MP SR of only 2.2 instead of 3 for the year. Do I stay there or go looking for more hardship hmmm?

Rent ground next door or silage and heifer ground? See what you can push out at that stocking rate and see from there I guess. Best of luck with it

Next door. Across a road though, and currently a 200m walk on the road, so get planning for a new gateway my 1st step.

Is she official Tim or just doing the sums? 30 acres beside me made 280/acre. Not sure where the value is there, old pasture.

I'm land locked re expansion, so best of luck if you plan to graze this year!

5yr deal done. The price isn't a colour on 280/ac but still the utter maximum I was willing to go to!

Hmmm considering there could be 150+cows suddenly regularly passing by a certain house along the way I'm going to keep everything well above board here.

Keep the road clean, shouldn't be too much of an issue then :D.
Hope you get the benefit of making a go in the next few years.

Havent a clue about the ins and outs of the power of the board, but surely they cant sign of on the above without a vote of co-op shareholders.....

In general, I think they can. When they are voted onto the board as your representative, you grant them the right to negotiate and agree a large range of deals on your behalf.

There are certain things they cannot agree to without voting on and those would be covered in the rules of whatever co-op you are supplying.
