As above, I think it won't really be an issue till the weekend but I'm still on the wagon and managed a short run tonight to get me going. Signed up for a 10k for the end of February too :)

I spent most of 2016 pregnant so no chance I'm doing dry January!! :-) I did discover it's not hard to quit drinking though, and no hangover on a Saturday and/or Sunday morning is a fantastic feeling

    I have a phantom hangover.

Tonight is my favourite night for a glass or two of wine. Dammit.

Dying with manflu and have the serious want for a hot whiskey to cure it but I shall persevere!

Ah, I'd excuse you if it's for medicinal purposes. Feeling a little under the weather myself, might pick up 6 cans... :D

I'll be in Eastern Europe for four days later in January and I don't plan to be sober for a single second of those four days.

My favourite part of the world to get loaded. Specifically Poland, such a wonderful country. If we ever meet out there Peregrine the first pints of Lech are on me.

Yup going to give it a go. I managed to get to March last year without drinking and was planning on trying again this year but there's a fair few big birthdays coming up so...not sure I'll manage it!

I did it last year and nothing amazing happened but I don't drink much in the first place so it might be different for someone who is a regular drinker.

Well I've just landed back from Scotland and procured myself at Edinburgh airport a nice litre bottle of Ardmore traditionally peated single malt whisky so not for the next wee while anyway ha ha. :D:D:D:D

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Oh I think I've a bottle of that at home, but I don't like scotch.

Never get this. I'd rather go dry in a spring or summer month. January is the kind of month in which you need a drink :)

    Nope.

    Aberfeldy.

I didn't have wine last night. I'm not going to lie. I thought about going "ah fcukit, be grand".

I won't be bothered over the weekend.

Out tomorrow afternoon, dry January can go and ask me hole!

Remember kids, the pub isn't just for Christmas!

This Dry January thing annoys me a bit. By all means give your wallet and your liver a break.
I have 2 weekends involving drinking planned already for January - hectic social life doesn't allow me to take part in a Dry January anyway! :D

    I'm a binge drinker.

I'll go weeks without a drink then go on a weekender and end up crapping the bed or puking my bowels out.

After which i'll be depressed for 2 or 3 days, will **** and cry for this period and vow never to drink again.

Will probably repeat this several times this year.

Might go out to watch a six nations match, can't see me drinking between now and then.

Six nations rugby will drive me to drink.

Something to dull the pain of rugby that cant be avoided

I'm certainly going to try, I've gained about 10kg's this year since I quit the gym regularly. The final birthday is the middle of this month and that is it then I have until April. I'm going to try hold until then because there isn't a hope of me staying off it during the summer and the birthdays run from Apr to Jan! :o

Havn't drank since christmas, so the missus goes and books us a holiday to Newcastle on the 20th of this month! The audacity!

I failed already. My friend was home from Germany so went for a few last night. I suppose I'm just going to cut down in general but whether I like it or not, I'd have zero social life sans booze and would drive me nuts. Having none tonight though.

I'll probably be dry until March, that's the next big social event in my calander I beleive.

I have an important social event on the 27th so I'll probably have a few drinks that weekend.

I was supposed to meet a friend, who's heading away, for a few pints, completely forgot :/

Would love just a few but determined to stick it out :)

Was just in supervalu there and there was a Heineken stand giving away free bottles of Heineken Light on promotion. I nearly folded and took a bottle but somehow I walked away. To say I am struggling today is an understatement. Would love a few cold beers!
