I didn't comment on any of their rantings as I'd rather retain the option of a free bed with those who later disavow Trump. It's all about the long game!:D

Hence the need for a new arms race?

I'm not going to call Trump supporters stupid. However, I do think he has tapped into a groundswell of not wanting to think independently or critically. The Reality TV audience. Most of what Trump claims can be investigated quickly, yet people don't do it.

I think Trump thought he was a contestant in the biggest Reality TV competition ever. I don't think he grasped the enormity of what he had won until it was way too late

Not going to call Trump supporters "stupid" - I most certainly hope not. You believe in any ould false news.

Jobs announced in December - on Trump's watch for those of you having a bit of a sleep.

    https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/287164

"SoftBank and OneWeb had announced on Dec. 19 that the Japanese company was leading a $1.2 billion funding round.

OneWeb plans to use the funds to build a plant in Florida to produce low-cost satellites, creating almost 3,000 jobs at the company and its suppliers.

SoftBank described its $1 billion share of the funding as the first tranche of the $50 billion promised by Son in a meeting with Trump."

You know what? I applaud Trump for creating the next level troll.

My fervent hope is that his tweets finally implode the whole concept of twitter #tag mobs and renders them apathetic obsolete creatures, smashed, dashed and defeated by Trumps tidal wave of stupid. That at least would be a positive outcome from a Trump presidency.

All of that is none sense. even putting aside the fact the the POTUS has got to dealing with macro job development rather than individual companies are we supposed to believe that this company only chose to invest in US after a meeting with Trumps son, who regardless of Trump, has no direct input into the future running of the states?

The question then need to be asked, if this is the story we are supposed to believe, that Trump is the reason, then what has changed? What was promised to the company to make them suddenly decide to invest in the US rather than wherever they were going to?

The news of the jobs is good, but its the apparent need for Trump to claim credit for anything good that is worrying. What happens when factories close down?

Inauguration's January. The election doesn't actually make him president already. That would be the inauguration. Which is in January.

And who called Trump supporters stupid recently?

The liberals in America are and will continue to go for Trump in big numbers but luckily for the GOP they have an outstanding strategist and leader at the helm who can repel anything thrown at him.

Well Obama didn't create those jobs. He was too busy getting buried by Putin at the time.

So arguing for Trump just to be contrarian is going to be a 2017 thing?

Ok then I'll be avoiding Trump threads along with Facebook.

Nah, it's been going on for months now.

It is getting a tad desperate by now. You'll notice a lot of them going into rants about anyone else to avoid the awkwardness of having to say something specifically good that Trump did.

Trump is more than able to speak for himself as to leave no doubt about his character, he really doesn't need interpreters.

    Woops.

Although I would agree that for someone outside the USA this gap of over three months between the election and the changeover of governments must be pretty odd.

Another aspect that is very different from a parliamentary system is that there are three branches of government and that the presidency and congress are seperate and not required to work together (even though they are from the same party).

Well heres to 2017, should be interesting if nothing else

Top of my wish list; impeachment, a couple of fraud cases, a few dozen scandals, bankrupcy and one or two sex scandals.

But the teflon don will still be in power at the end of the year :(

Party doesn't matter for working together; party members elected to positions don't have to toe the line. They mostly do, but many are noted for voting their conscience - cf. Bernie Sander's history, among many others.

And, really, this company decided overnight to announce something that'd been in the works for months (at least.) I suppose timing is everything.

Wow, I just watched 6 minutes of Sean Spicer (incoming press secretary) playing deflection when asked about the expulsion of Russian spies.

The interview's embedded here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-russia-hack_us_5869198ae4b0eb586489d96c and available from ABC in a transcript here: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-17-sean-spicer-rep-adam-schiff/story?id=44485040

Summarizing: The US gov's published a "Joint Analysis Report" that starts out by saying: "This document
provides technical details regarding the tools and infrastructure used by the Russian civilian and
military intelligence Services (RIS) to compromise and exploit networks and endpoints
associated with the U.S. election, as well as a range of U.S. Government, political, and private
    sector entities."

Later in the document it talks about how to prevent these attacks. Spicer was all over how the problem was bad security at the DNC and gave the Russians a pass, saying that Trump is going to meet with the heads of the intelligence agencies to see if the response was merited. Spicer refused to say that the Russians were behind the hacks, despite being handed the document during the interview. The above is part of the opening paragraph. You can find the rest of it here: https://www.us-cert.gov/sites/default/files/publications/JAR_16-20296A_GRIZZLY%20STEPPE-2016-1229.pdf

Spicer further went on about how some Chinese hack didn't result in any expulsions. Of course, we don't KNOW what the US gov to the Chinese (like, they don't let us know everything they do, yinno) did but that didn't stop Spicer from deflecting.

At least they could've brought back Dana Perino. She is better looking, and flibbity-gibbet enough when stumbling through her replies to provide some entertainment. Spicer's a reedy-sounding slime.

I can't imagine it will last too long this Trump Presidency. He will be stitched up, and won't be able to help himself. Demonrats will have some nice looking broad wearing a mic and camera hit on him and he will end up like Billy Clinton within the year.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but if you think this is thanks to Trump... The article title literally says it was already decided ages before he won the election.

I find that a very strange attitude. So basically, he can do whatever he wants now as you simply have no expectations.

So why did you want him to win? I assume it is some type of anti HC, anti establishment or anti status quo type feeling but if you have no values on which to judge to new how do you consider whether it is any better or worse than the old?

Nothing wrong with change, in fact change is almost necessary at times, but only if it changes for the better.

I don't think people underestimated him, but they certainly underestimated the amount of people who would fail to realise what a clown he is.

I'd feel this is more accurate.

This and they underestimated how many people would just stay home and not vote.

It's an international embarrassment for a country.

I know lots of reasonable intelligent Americans but whenever they try and throw off the 'dumb American right wing nut' stereotype, they have to face up to the fact that the country elected a racist reality TV star who basically just told massive lies through the whole campaign.

    It's cringeworthy.
