You can talk to people that you have an understanding with, and a mutual respect for.

    As opposed to Obama.

I must say I'm surprised that Trump seems so positive about Putin. I can't really see what's in it for him or America. A lot of the GOP, which he still needs won't budge on Putin a bit.

    Maybe someone can explain?

Why does an economically protectionist country need an ally like Russia?
A hell of a lot of it could be potentially due to Trump owing his place in office to Putin, and if that is it you know Vlad will be sure to keep the strings tight on his white house puppet. It's why the diplomat expulsion could cause a problem for Trump as just about all the democratic and republican politicians seems on board with it - if Trump wants to reinstall them he'll lose a he'll of a log of bargaining power and will basically have to show himself to be putting Russian interests and head of American.

I wish Pres Obama his family and colleagues very well in the new year and upon finishing his term in office even though he has been a frustrating President unwilling to listen to those within the Democratic party that spoke of improving relations with Russia and not getting involved in the GOP's foreign policy blunders.

    Ehh No.

Again, can you explain why Trump would see the need to engage with Russia given his stated direction for the US?

Can I also ask what this 'mutual respect' you mention would be based on?

Can you explain just a bit please the forces that you feel will propel the Trump brand to 16 unbroken years of the presidency?

Also before we get into a totally different subject, could you expand on the above?

    Thanks.

Throwing a few diplomats out of the US is pretty fair, Obama has been incredibly mild in terms of Russia policy.

Russia have engaged in expansionism in recent years, the current direction Russia is going will reflect on the US negatively if they choose to be friends with him.

Sanders supporters won't vote for anybody but Sanders. Democrats might choose another woman to run. She w I ll lose.

As for his son ? He certainly knows how to present himself well. The Gop will have learned their lessons and will back him.

Democrats are now in complete disarray.

By the way could somebody please tell John McCain to shut up and get with the program ? He is an idiot.

I've never been a fan of McCain but he is most definitely not an idiot and is respected by a large proportion of Americans for good reason.

McCain has more integrity in his little toe than Trump in his entire body.

The man is a class act, regardless if you disagree with his policies.

Grand but what issues do you think people will be voting on in 4,8 and 12 years?

Or do you think that the current status quo - sanders, woman candidate, divided democrats will simply hold for three more election cycles?

But unless I'm mistaken even as the losing candidate Cain still got more votes than Trump, as did the next republican challenger to Obama.

Yeah. I think you have to consider that Clinton and the Democrats in particular are as responsible for Trump getting elected as anyone.

Ha ha...imagine the donald running through the jungle trying to evade the vietcong.

Trump is the guy who evaded serving his country because of a "heel spur". Fcuking coward.

All the torturers would have to do is desecrate some Trump fanart pulled from the depths of 4chan and ebbsy would be done.

He needs to have some respect for the next President. The Gop are where they are today because of Trump. They should do well to remember that.

Why? Respect is not something that Trump seems overly worried about so its a bit much to expect others to have it for him

The likes of McCain really grind my gears. They can't see the bigger picture, IE to be in power. They need to swallow their pride and do what is best for the Gop.

Again, why? Trump has never shown any loyalty to the GOP so why would Trump expect any back. The GOP probably see this as a short term thing and if or when Trump fecks up they don't want to be left picking up the pieces.

ebbsy clearly means they all need to listen to big leader Trump and absolutely not provide any contradictory statements or feelings.

A little bit like a fascist dictatorship, and if they don't listen the party should be purged of any dissenters.

The only positive of Trump so far for me is that it's pretty killed Facebook for me. I was hanging in there to keep in touch with friends far afield but exposure to Yank relatives who are Trump fans was the final push.

Whilst all this tweeting from Trump is funny it will come back to bite him when things don't go so well (and no matter how good he is there will he things that don't go to plan).

He is so willing to play to the crowd when things are going his way that people will be asking why he goes quite at other times.

Also, it will be telling how he deals with the press corps when he actually takes office. As the President he can't simply send 140 character tweets out or soft case interviews to cover his duty to keep in touch with the people. Although it is mostly BS, the pres will be out to rattle him, as he does appear to be easily rattled when the rules are not those set by himself.

I think it was on this thread that someone mentioned that it would be interesting to see how he deals with the 'public' rather than the 'private' nature of the people he will have working for him. Up till now, it is his company, what he says goes. People need him for their jobs. But that isn't the case now, and already we have seen a large amount of senior GOP leaders struggle to offer him support.

When the honeymoon wears off, does he really think he can bully professional politicians to go with him rather than look after themselves?

I didn't comment on any of their rantings as I'd rather retain the option of a free bed with those who later disavow Trump. It's all about the long game!:D
