I'm amazed its taken so long for someone to try the zipp golf ball dimple thing outside of just the rims. Is there any solid science behind it? I mean race cars and motorbikes and planes don't go for the pitted surface effect for their much more significant aero effects.

maybe it's something to do with a golf ball spinning, so the dimples are not static relative to the airflow?

So I know everyone thinks their own bike is a thing of beauty and I'm no different! Chain and bar tape still to be put on but pretty much there. Weighed it very unscientifically last night, weighed myself on the scales and then me holding the bike. Weight is around 6.9kg, not bad considering weight wasn't a top concern building it.

That's nice and will make a beautiful bike. NOS or new built?
Need to get my own early 1990 SL frame built back up and running!

Thanks - frame is NOS. Never had any parts fitted. The parts I have to fit are a couple years older than the frame - 1992/1993 c record with first generation ergopower levers. I have both delta brakes and c record cobalto callipers and am undecided which to fit. Am also considering using 8 speed synchro 2 down tube shifers and maybe not using the ergopowers...

I'm struggling to find a cinelli Grammo stem in 110mm or 115mm so can't put it together until I find one for a resonable price.

Delta brakes on that would look sumptous!
    Not jealous at all!
