Head shaving

Apologies if posting in wrong forum. I have been using a Santa-supplied Wahl super taper no. 1 for a head trim over the past few years. A few months ago I tried the trimmer without any attachments and was happy out with the result. Now I would prefer a closer cut without having to resort to the shaving ritual (water, gel, washing, blades etc.). Can I get a shaver that cuts as close without shaving?
    Thanks in advance!

Definately the right place for this.

    Have you a lawnmower?

Yeah thanks. But I already use the lawnmower on my back... plus the strimmers on my pubes and the chainsaw in bed...

Depends what look you are going for, "scummy skinhead scumbag" or "No I don't have male pattern baldness"

Thanks guys for the insightful posts. New dad here again and delighted to get away from Despicable 2 again and again. Surprisingly impressed by The Croods:)
Please God there must be a decent compromise between a two minute head shave and the almighty waste-of -time ritual that is shaving.

    it's called an electric razor.

Honestly though, the wet shave isn't hard. I shave my head in less than two minutes. I do it in the shower so it's easy to rinse. I used an electric shaver for a while and it takes too long.

If you want an easier way to wet shave there's something called a head blade but I've never bothered getting one.

I'm just a middle-aged balding man. I don't need to report it when I'm strimming my pubes so why would I need a statement for male pattern baldness? Btw I usually google "scummy skinhead scumbag" for the ****

Thanks Grayson. I've never been a fan of the electric razor on my face but I might try it on my head. Thanks for the info!

If you go to a salon suppliers (they sell to the public too) and get a smaller version of what you have. It's used in the trade for shaping lines at the sides and removing mechanical hair. It'll leave about 1-2mms and they're cordless rechargeable battery. Easier to use than the clippers.
The one I always used was a Wahl sterling trimmer, great little machine.
And to clean your blades always use wd40 instead of the clipper oil supplied, its a finer oil and prolongs the life of the clippers. A good spray at the side of the blade over some kitchen roll, and allow the oil to drip out through the blades (while it's running) then wipe dry.
Fyi. If your going to do a wet shave it's easier done with conditioner rather than shaving gel, less drying on the skin.

    Are you seeking sponsorship?

    Please don't say "Happy out".

    Many Thanks

You are using what's called a raw blade. They go number 8 to 1 then raw. Other clippers will have a slightly closer shave. What about an electric razor that is designed for shaving your face. No soap and water required. There used to be a phillishave or something like that.

You can never go wrong with a Wahl clippers. They must be going close to 100 years. Trusted by barbers worldwide.

I use Wahl Balder clippers, I bought them in Oz 6 years ago, once you keep them clean and well oiled they are pretty bullet proof.

For the closer shave I go for a Mach 3 razor while in the shower, usually once or twice a week. Literally takes a few minutes to do once your hair is only a few mill long.

Any chance of a Wahl # 0 razor? Simply want a decent cut & go without having to shave, wash, razors etc.

    I have wine.

Do many go the Mach 3 route? I don't even shave my own head with a clippers as I always miss bits. Quite happy to pay a barber to do it but have been meaning to get it right down to the scalp for a while.

    I use Wahl Balder clippers.

This seems to be what I was looking for so I'll try to buy them. Failing that the electric razor seems to be the way to go. Where are Lord Sugar's apprentices when you need a decent saleable product?

I use a razor on mine. I like to get in as close as possible as anything else just looks sloppy to me.

Go for one of these for a really close cut.. I've had mine about 18 months now. Use it daily. You need to replace the blades every 6 months (probably you should do it more often but it's usually about 6 months in when I notice its taking longer to cut)

Veet. Once you get over the pretty bad smell of the stuff you'll never try anything else. Works a dream for any part of your body, including down south, unlike what Amazon review comedians say.
