basic maintenance question - is there such a thing as jockey wheels specific to a groupset?
it's a 13 year old 9 speed 105 derailleur. just discovered that one of the jockey wheels is pretty shagged.

AFAIK, any of the 9 speed jockey wheels from Shimano will do the job. SJS or CRC will have a pair for just north of a tenner.

Male cyclist on Seville Place this morning wearing short shorts and a belly top. I'm not the better of it yet!

Short shorts and a belly top !

    Not me,

I'd go for speedos with a belly top (and they would have to be in matching colours..)

I really have to get on top of the dirty laundry pile. You wouldn't believe the get-up I had to go out in today.

Only just noticed SSF now, obviously not spending enough time in AH. Maybe should be stickied on all forums. Anyhoo, €50 down, better late than never.

Finnish bloke heat tests brakes on icy roads.

I've no idea what the purpose of this experiment was, but I could listen to that lad talk all day.

Fcukin hell - he's hammering downhill on an icy road at minus 23 degrees.

Feel like a wimp now for moving gingerly along when there may be ice.

Another fishy package being delivered to Team Sky.

Hmmm, getting increasingly fat curious myself. Given I'm a total disaster on a MTB, this does not bode well for my continued physical health.

Holy God! -23 and he's wearing jeans, making his legs the same temperature/colour as the nearby forest. And I'm wearing wets on top of my trousers to retain heat and feel a bit warmer in Dublin's frosty weather! Mad hardy Finns!

Cycling along in the city centre yesterday and overtook a horse and cart, only to have to stop a few metres ahead at the lights. As i was waiting I felt a gentle nudge on my wheel and looked around to see the horse saying hi! I gave his nose a little rub and we went on our merry way!

Now that "plus" size MTB tyres are available e.g. 3.0" on 27.5, is the case for a dedicated fat bike weakened? How fat do you really need to go?

You can get a fat bike and then put 27.5+ or 29s on it, whereas you cannot go the other way. A good all round fat bike frame is where it is at, with 3 or sets of wheels for all scenarios.

Spent last week in Sao Paulo, Brazil where only a few hardy souls seem to commute by bike but the midnight run concept seems to extend to lycra clad club runs (mostly on mountain bikes, 20% inclines abound ) through the city centre complete with coffee stop outside a late opening luncheonette.

I almost had the courage to test my supposedly fluent Portuguese on them but fell into the easy excuse of not delaying my friends.

Even more impressive I saw a dozen or so fixie riders...not clear if they just get around by avoiding the bigger hills or if they in fact have knees that will outlive us all

Urgh, nasty fall. Potential fractured thumb. There goes the Festive 500. Quite irritated.

Interesting concept for a forward-thinking company involved in the Bike-to-Work scheme, maybe:

    https://www.dutchcycling.nl/news/146-solar-application-lab-pilot-project?platform=hootsuite
There is currently one E-Bike with the Solar Application Lab panels in the bicycle wheels, called S-Bike. The technology ensures longer riding times because the bike charges while you ride, and longer battery life compared to E-Bikes currently on the market. A new pilot project is in the making to test the S-Bike even further…
A call for action is needed for a company (or companies) to take the lead of zero emission transportation, and fund the pilot project of 20 S-Bikes.

Sorry to hear that, though the conditions are pretty brutal at the moment. Up in Ballyboden here, just chased my greenhouse across the garden and had a half full water butt blown off the wall. I can imagine the Featherbeds this morning would be interest, and doubt you'd be able stand up let alone cycle. Anyway, speedy recover and lift a glass or two with the other hand.

I never particularly liked George Michael's music, though I think it was very well done, just not my thing; but I thought, from what I knew of him from interviews, he was a thoughtful guy and very funny too.

When he fell out of a moving car on a motorway I did wonder how much more misfortune he could survive.
