I'd be happy to throw in a few euro and I'm sure others would too.

I'm sure M17 is doing this for the historical aspect of the construction project and might even be insulted by my suggestion but here it is anyway

N18 Kilcolgan-Galway: N67
N18 Oranmore-Claregalway: R381
N63 Annagh-Loughgeorge: R354
N17 Tuam-Galway: N83

Presumably the N17 to N83 redesignation is to apply to the TII for a national road bypass of Claregalway when the traffic madness continues through there after this scheme opens, rather than Galway CoCo having to pay for their own relief road were the N17 to be redesignated an R road.

Not sure if it's mentioned here but it seems the work on M6 Exit 18 has finished for Christmas. Since last Friday evening, all roadworks signage and 80 km/h speed limit restrictions have been lifted in both directions.

No. The existing N18 as far as Oranmore & R446 will be redesignated N67. Where the current N18 splits at Oranmore to head towards Claregalway (and cross the M6), will become the R381.

No chance they have another 8kms to tarmac,12kms of the jersey barrier to complete then the blacktop has to be done it's looking like August 17 before the m17 opens

They started construction on the m18 side of Rathmorrisy way ahead of the m17 side but just seem to slow down a lot over the last 9 months or so, to the extent that the m17 side is far more advanced now. Was there a lot of rock on that side(m18).

No there was not a lot of rock on the m18 side,it's down to langans section of the m18 they are way behind sisk and roadbridge,sisk have left that side of rathmorrisy,and are contrasting on the m17 side

this is the worst part of the m17,they have now layed 19kms of tarmac,sisk have 4.5 kms left and roadbridge have 2 kms left to do,as of the 22/12/16

Thanks for that picture of Kiltiernan M17, now I can finally understand how it works at that junction. It's the same narrow entry/exit as the rest of the M18 around Ennis.
