Episode 10 was superb. Action packed and conspiracy packed, with the best ending of any of the mid-season finales so far.

Edge of the seat stuff - just brilliant.

It was good. I think the people who are making this know exactly how much fun they're having with it.

    About last night...
Shure, just stay in your colleague's gaf and let your wounds heal
    *Hacking/keyboard hammering* I'm in!
    Pep talk from Freddie Lounds
    Camera lingering on Aaron
There's a traitor in the White House

    Trust no one, Mr. Kirkman

    :pac:

    Long wait.

Could the bullet have hit Kirkman's wife, or is that too much of an arc that they wouldn't bother?

It's a bit stupid to leave us hanging for just 3 more episodes. Air them and be done with it - they're already filmed (I assume).

It might make more sense if that was the first 10 and there were 10 to go, but there are only 13 in total.

I wouldn't be surprised if they air on Canadian or Australian TV first.

What? It has a full season order of 22 episodes. You even liked the post with that news...http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=101201444&postcount=42

From looking at imdb I have a feeling who got hit.

Really good episode, if not bordering on the ridiculous! Look forward to it every week/3 months now.

Have to say I'm not entirely sold on the show. It's okay, but it's getting into needlessly ridiculous conspiracy plots (person giving Wells info being as vague as possible "Find Room 105"/"Look for 11:14PM" instead of just f*cking telling her) and FBI tech guy who can still hack/access things from his own home computer.

Plus all the issues Jack Bauer comes up against he solves. Given the description of the show and the trailer, I was expecting someone really struggling to be President. Someone really ill-equipped for the job, and possibly even repeatedly compromised by it. Instead, he's doing okay at it, and is being the "All-American Good Guy™".

I'll watch the rest of the season when it's back, but they need a bit of a change in direction.

Watched the 10 episodes over the last week or so, just got done last night.

Its a stupid show, but I'm loving it. My wife watched it with me and summed it up by saying the only people who would like this or think it's good are 24 fans.

She's right and I don't say that often.

Jack Bauer as president, rogue federal agent - its like you stepped into some alternative 24 universe :D

24 was way better than this rubbish.

Last couple of episodes were better.

His wife barely made an appearance. Coincidence?

Is there only 10 episodes in the first season?

Bit of a cliffhanger if so!

8 episodes in - it's not great but watchable. I cringe at all the flag waving patriot stuff and find myself shouting "MURICA" now and again, but he is the president so it's to be expected.

This is back tomorrow night. It'll be interesting to see how much the stupid 3 month break has hurt its numbers (and chance of renewal).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,790 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    I enjoyed that. :)

Oh is it back?? I love this. Love Kiefer - even with the plastic face!

I unashamedly love this show. I always look forward to the next episode, which to me is the sign of good TV. Cheesy or not, it's keeping me hooked.

Anyone have any idea why McLeish wanted the stockmarket to take a dive? Is his whole plot financially driven or what?

    Ratings looking very healthy:

    http://deadline.com/2017/03/survivor-debut-series-low-designated-survivor-up-ratings-1202040011/
Meanwhile, ABC’s Kiefer Sutherland’s POTUS drama Designated Survivor returned to air after a 12-week break, and clocked a 1.3 demo rating and 5.875M viewers. Demo-wise, that’s up a tad compared to its most recent episode, on December 14, which clocked a 1.2 rating; last fall, Designated Survivor debuted to a 2.2 rating.
Leading up to Wednesday’s return ABC had aired Designated Survivor promos in heavy rotation on CNN. Today the network notes Designated Survivor is No. 1 for the 2016-2017 season in Live+7 ratings, spiking over its L+SD numbers by 6.9 million total viewers, making it the first-ever broadcast series to deliver a larger L+7 lift than its actual L+SD average audience (6.9 million vs. 6.6 million).
