When there's info on the Trump thing I will gladly eat my words. Right now it's just Assange's word against theres.
Seems you're trying to say Trump = assumed innocent until proven guilty, Clinton = assumed guilty until proven innocent.
The CIA director has denied the link as recent as 2 days ago in a live hearing.
The CIA director two days ago denied a link between Russia getting involved in the IUS election, Russia and Trump colluding in the US election, or both?
About the investigation, I don't think that's how it works. They need to build a case not just pickup a single email and throw handcuffs on somebody.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/house-republicans-are-already-preparing-for-years-of-investigations-of-clinton/2016/10/26/e153a714-9ac3-11e6-9980-50913d68eacb_story.html?utm_term=.62c358e97b18

"Jason Chaffetz, the Utah congressman wrapping up his first term atop the powerful House Oversight Committee, unendorsed Donald Trump weeks ago. That freed him up to prepare for something else: spending years, come January, probing the record of a President Hillary Clinton.

“It’s a target-rich environment,” the Republican said in an interview in Salt Lake City’s suburbs. “Even before we get to Day One, we’ve got two years’ worth of material already lined up. She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain’t good.”"

The youtube link was 2 weeks ago so more recent, but you get the idea.
And the exact same is the case about Russia and/or Trump. The fact remains, if the tabloid/clickbait laden headlines of "the email to get Clinton arrested is coming... tomorrow!" were true, it would have good-as-immediately been scooped up and circulated all over the place, and not just by the Breitbart's and Infowars of the world. Yet it... hasn't.

They've got nothing, and she doesn't have to play nice anymore.

How did she play nice when the email hearing was going on? The DOJ were colluding with her telling her what was coming up in the hearings and giving her advice, and the AG met with Slick Willy before a decision was going to be made in the back of a plane for 45 minutes. This is all true and in the leaks. The FBI were being knocked back by the DOJ. Same crap going on in the Benghazi hearings. She could have murdered someone on video and gotten away with it, they were all playing her fiddle and congress have no power to indict her even if they believe she's guilty, which they've said many times they do. A new Government is a different playing field.

The foundation investigation is separate. Honestly I couldn't care less if nothing happens since she lost. She's old and and spent a long time in office. The defeat in the election is enough. What's annoying me now if the fact she won't let it go, Podesta and her other chronies are meeting with the electors trying to swing them, and i'll get call a conspiracy theorist for this, the recounts had her team working on them under her watch. I don't think Jill Stein with 1% of the vote suddenly decided to do recounts in swing states Trump narrowly won. I'll never accept someone saying she did nothing wrong though because "nothing happened".

How did she play nice when the email hearing was going on?

She attended a whole pile of dumb hearings about nothing.

Now all she has to do is give them the name of her lawyer and tell them to arrest her or shut the f* up.

Link between Russia and Wikileaks. It was James Clapper. There's videos of it on youtube, the hearing, but no MSM site reported it.

He said “As far as the WikiLeaks connection, the evidence there is not as strong and we don’t have good insight into the sequencing of the releases or when the data may have been provided. We don’t have as good insight into that.”

The MSM won't even report on Assanges interview. The only one that's known besides Fox was the Hill and they twisted his words making out he said Russia were involved, when that's not what he said at all. It's disgusting really and that bias misinterpretation is why people stopped believing sites like CNN.

    Dumb hearing like Benghazi eh.

Move along, nothing to see here.

The information contained in the emails are freely available to everyone, if you perceive me to be on higher ground because I've studied them and you're out of the loop, then you're the one with the problem.
I don't know how you could seriously infer that I thought you had any high ground. I was accusing you of being disingenuous in your posts, and I stand by that. You brought up birtherism and people laughed at you. Then you claimed to have no interest in it.

Bit of a straw man there, given it's not what I was talking about.

Wikileaks' and the emails were arguably the single biggest story in the entire election.

But yes, constantly saying you have a "huge story coming... tomorrow!" that you fail to deliver on every single time does hurt your credibility.

    Exactly.

When we stop questioning things and just believe everything the MSM says as fact we become nothing than mindless drones. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not saying mine is better than anyone else's! There is clearly a difference of opinion here and one of those opinions far outweighs the other.

Wikileaks is a platform to back up suspicion, the Government and the MSM hate that. I won't go on a full Alex Jones style rant :o but IMO there is no substance to the CIA Russia/Wikileaks link and it's a political ploy to stop Trump getting into office and the chances of that happening are far higher than what some people think. The prerogative of the media is clear and they're not even trying to hide it anymore. The celebrities are out in there droves making collaboration videos getting paid to influence the electors.

I'll come back when the electors cast their votes unless something crazy happens, all this bickering back and fourth isn't good for anyone. All the best

But you are referring to Benghazi investigations as if they weer something other than a transparent attempt to drag Clinton through some mud and hope it stuck.

If they were something else, please let us know the devastating revelations which came out of those long, expensive investigations.

    [tumbleweed]

The email nonsense is more of the same, and Clinton no longer has any reason to humour them.

Out of interest, what is your take on James Comey rushing to spread the word on the emails they found a few days before the election, yet insisting that the FBI's name not be included in the White House statement citing the fact it was "too close" to the election?

Are you asking why they made it public? It's been reported people inside the FBI can't stand her and they shouted out when it was announced the email case was reopening.

It was probably political to damage her campaign. I don't know what you mean about the statement.

Report: Comey expressed concerns about accusing Russia of meddling with election because it was too close to November

This was a few weeks before the FBI decided to come out and very publicly make a very vague statement in order to create doubt and concern over something that it turned out was a complete non issue, which they likely knew at the time of the statement.

Yeah who know's. My understanding of it at the time was the FBI were trying to get back at the DOJ over the hearings and there was reports of massive internal fighting.

The same reports are happening in the UK now after the Brexit win, all over their MSM too. Farage blaming global media elites.

    Done posting for a while.

    What's hardly fair?
In Ireland when we vote for a President or a referendum, the urban areas can carry the whole vote.

That's democracy, the will of the majority.

However in Ireland, we avoid the "tyranny of the majority" problem by limiting the amount of power that can be granted through direct votes. The President has no real power, constitutional amendments are typically small. And the parliament is elected in a representative manner.
Therefore the ability of the majority to lead everyone else by the nose is limited.

The US electoral college is supposed to prevent the tyranny of the majority, but instead it provides for a different kind of wrong - the tyranny of the minority. In a union where "all men are created equal", your vote has a higher value depending on what state you live in.

    That's hardly fair.

The presidential system in the US is inherently broken. For many, many reasons it's not a democratic system and cannot call itself that.

Your first mistake is calling the USA a democracy. It is not, its a Republic first and foremost. The rest of your post is your typical progressive crying like a little baby over an election result going the wrong way. Funny how no one was complaining when Obama won two terms or when Hillary was expected to win in a land-slide.

'Thats hardly fair' Boo-****ing hoo, its a Federal Republic, read up on it.

Gone into overdrive now. They're using the Russian narrative and the media to push the notion an electoral flip is possible and not some crazy idea. Back to paying celebrities again, but this time to try and influence electors not voters.

One of the reasons Trump won is right in this video. These celebrities talk about democracy, yet when they lose an election they throw their toys out of the prams. Your average person should and does look down on them with contempt and disgust. Let them eat cake.

Trump is just laughing at them. Trump won most states, he is the next President. Get over it already. The yellow belly yankees are always crying when they don't win. They got whipped!

All US politicians throw their toys out of the pram when they lose. Trump has previously called for the Electoral College to be abolished and for people to take to the streets because Obama won. In North Carolina the Republicans are removing powers from the Governorship as they lost an election there.

And now, when you have a transitional team making suspicious requests like for all the names of climate change researchers for the government, and when all members of the proposed white house staff have conflicts of interest, then people should rightly be worried their democracy could be in danger.

Instead of claiming to be victims and blaming the messenger, maybe they should listen to the message and find out if it's true or not.

If they're true, yeah probably/possibly/not really sure/depends on the scale. But this is just causing conflict where there's nothing confirmed yet.

I'd want to be mates with the Russians to be honest.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,631 ✭✭✭✭Hank Scorpio

The same thing is happening now with media in the UK along with the US. There's no proof provided in either case only contradictory statements from Intel agencies and both Countries are blaming Russia, the MSM is in overdrive, are we not seeing a pattern here? It was different before but now they're straight up calling Putin out.

Wouldn't like to be the Wikileaks leaker right now! Unless it's revealed the media won't stop, they straight up ignored Assange yesterday and his interview denying the leaks came from Russia.

Obv there's a chance the US and UK are saying is true too.

Until recently, the Republicans were all Russia is really the same as the commies that Saint Reagan defeated single handed on the Berlin wall.

It's extremely peculiar how they have suddenly decided that Russia is their friend and there should be no tensions with Russia about anything.
