  • You pretty much learn very quickly in this game what cars to avoid if given a choice.

I found the phone app total rubbish , it always spawned the cars miles away from you.

Im not looking forward too the take a pic of someone puking pic or the online ones tbh.
I got it today, hang around the piers. I don't know if day or night matters.
Got it after about two or three minutes, good luck.

So is the general consensus on this good? Debating to grab it or not..

I was the same but I'm in the minority that actually enjoyed Watch Dogs :D So glad I did though, it is brilliant. This improves on the original in every way, from the core gameplay loop and hacking abilities, to the setting and characters. It doesn't take itself too seriously either, and even though I've heard some people call the story "childish", I've laughed out loud at a few parts already and only a few hours in. It reminds me quite a bit of Saints Row in that regard.

Would highly recommend it if you have any interest at all in open world games.

Looking like even with last nights Nvidia drivers, a 970 can only run it on medium.

    That's pretty shít!

Just found that out by a tweet from a random YT video, so not gonna stand by that info.

Who does the best port reports? :)

Excellent fun, highly recommended. I didn't really enjoy the first, this feels like a different game and I compare it to an AC 2 jump from AC 1 if that means anything to you.

Thanks, not in a huge rush as the backlog is massive, but it does look like fun.

As long as it's not Batman levels of broken, a fortnight should solve any issues :)

Wouldn't surprise me. I had the third times a charm one bug on me. You should get this pretty much as soon as you get in a car and I never got it. Had to delete my save after getting everything else and redo it, got it fleeing the cops after I hijacked my 1st car on that new save.

Still enjoying the game a lot, but having one major gripe...

Why the goddamn f*ck is every goddamn f*cking thing on a goddamn f*cking roof? This isn't Assassins Creed. This guy can't climb, which means it's just constant forklift/scissorlift/crane and then having to try get back down again. I just did the mission where you've to get to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge which was slow torture. Mission Complete. I'm still on top of the f*cking bridge and they expect me to get back down the way I got up.

I just threw myself off the top. F*ck that.

If I see a rooftop objective, I send the copter up, if it needs a physical hack, I send up the car with upgraded jump. If that doesn't work, I sigh and look for a crane. Agreed, getting back down is a pain in the balls.

Think i'm near enough the end but have lost interest in it, will probably trade it in tomorrow. I enjoyed parts of the story but is a slog at this stage with similar formula to the missions. Initially I loved completing a mission without alerting anyone to my presence but the further you get into the game the more frustrating it gets, particularly controlling the jumper in tight spaces with guards everywhere. I didn't upgrade my Marksmanship skills at all and only have the silenced pistol and whatever guards drop as a weapon so once I'm caught I just give up and start again. That was grand initially but think I'm done with it now.

A big improvement on the first but the characters are as awful as Aiden or whatever his name was. Don't know how people like the characters tbh. I'll pick it up again when it gets cheap and do some of the side missions cos they were fun but right now I think i'd rather get stuck into Skyrim.

What's the point of trading it in if your just gonna pick it up again down the line ?

When I say down the line I mean at least a years time if not more. The point of trading it in is to play another game now. I'd be fairly confident i'll be able to pick it up this time next year for less than 20 quid and by then I'll be coming back to it fresh again.

Played some of the COOP on PC with some random player, the missions feel very samey.

And why is everything on top of a building.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,128 ✭✭✭✭aaronjumper

I think I might enjoy trespassing too much. I've a breaking and entering playlist.
After buying some cars, guns, clothes and the most expensive sailboat I've 770,000 dollars left over.
I've also maxed out vehicle hacking, remote control and social engineering.
Safe to say I'm enjoying myself.

    That side mission on Alcatraz
where you have to free the informant was tough though, glad I had the hack helicopter upgrade.

Finished it last night, really enjoyed it start to finish. I still have side stuff to do but might trade it in while it's still wortha bit of moola (hopefully). The online stuff has been class as well but haven't touched the co-op stuff. Highly recommend it anyway if anyone sees it on sale and not sure about giving it a go.

    ^^^
Looks to be part of the 12 days PSN sale on the 21st, if the leaked list is correct.
So dump it before then, for sure! :D

I still haven't bought the thing myself haha!

Not sure I'm going to bother finishing this. Don't know how far into the game I am, but just getting bored of it and the general mechanics of the game, plus now that I have good internet coupled with Black Friday game purchases, just have too much else I'd rather play.

Might get rid of it at the weekend. It's an enjoyable game and much, much better than the first, but I still don't think it's quite there yet.

Gamestop gave me €42 credit for it (40 if you don't have a free level 1 loyalty card). Not too shabby!

yeah I paid 43 for it on simplygames and cex gave me 42 cash

so I paid 1euro for it lol

great game got the platform trophy but the missions start to feel very repetitive at the later stages
but it's a very good game well worth buying hope they make a 3rd

gtav had great mission variety this is why it's still the best out there IMO regarding open world

are you doing side missions ?
IMO they always drag out open world games
have you tried just sticking to the main missions? if this is the case

Yeah I have been doing a lot of the side missions, but at the same time I think if I had to scissorlift myself onto another roof I'd throw myself off one.

Any XB1 deals on this around or coming up? I'm in no rush to buy it as it's a SP game, but I wouldn't mind a wee spin around Silicon Valley for old times' sake
