I think I'm going to bench boost this week.

This is my first year playing so I'm just wondering when should one play their bench boost and their other chips. I've only used my wildcard so far

Majority will say in dgws. My take on it is TC 100% in a dgw. BB I think any week when 3 of your 4 sub's have a good fixture and your fairly certain all your 15 players will start is preferable over a dgw . The aoa chip I wouldn't worry about and I'd just use it any week your defense has poor fixtures and you have a strong front 8.

Mine would be Pickford ihanacho or siggy, Evans , Pieter's. Evans and Pieter's holding me back obviously and I also have Heston who is a doubt so I'll hold off on it this week . Once amat starts its a decent week for u to do it.

I also have Brunt but see him as a player who I'd play every game due to his set pieces and playing in midfield. I'd be playing him above Mee/Amat I don't bench boost

Lads (for some reason) I have Bolasie. Is he protected from dropping in value now that he's flagged for injury or can he still lose value as normal?

I'd play brunt every week if I had him.

Any early talk about Mane and Costa injuries. Mane looks to be muscular but that's all I know.

My "sensible" -8 last week was....

Gundog (2) and Deeney (4) out for Walcott (3) and Austin (1).

I'd be 10 points better off if I'd done nothing

    He'll drop as normal

Not quite. He'll still drop but much slower than normal. Needs about 2.5x as many NTO per drop I think.

I'd play brunt every week if I had him.

I'd largely agree, but away to Chelsea little chance of attacking or defensive returns.

I'm unlikely to sell but if I get Alonso in along with Brunt and Cedric I'll have 3 "start every week" defenders which I never plan on doing.

Although having a decent 433/442 option could be part of the Xmas backup plan I suppose.

And I'd be thinking of benching Brunt this week and playing Cedric, Alonso and Amat. Would you play Brunt at the Bridge over Amat home to Sunderland??

I'm never ever ever playing Amat voluntarily again

I have those 4 defenders and it's my plan to start Brunt over Amat. He's heavily involved in all set pieces and might fluke in another goal even against a very solid Chelsea defense.

That's a close one. Wouldn't be surprised if amat is dropped he is that type of useless player to own.

I brought Kane is on Saturday night. I'm thinking I may take a -4 for Andy "the goal machine*" Carroll.

    *When he's not injured

I don't think Carroll is a great choice for the christmas period. After coming back from injury, I'd say there's a good chance he won't start every game. I know this is the case with most players, but I'd say Carroll is more at risk. Added to that is the fact that he's so injury prone.

I don't know man. You need to strike while the iron's hot with this lad. Liverpool away may be an iffy one but Burnley and Hull next week are looking daycent. I may risk it for a biscuit this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 858 ✭✭✭mectavba

    Aguero to Costa done Saturday,
Holebas to Alonso done earlier for 1st -4,
Considering Austin to Ihenacho for a further -4....worth the extra hit? I have no other City players which makes me nervous and -8s seems all the rage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 858 ✭✭✭mectavba

And to chime in on the West Ham discussion...I think Carroll is too much of a risk and Payet too expensive. I'll be looking to get Lanzini in as my 4th mid though for Hull and Burnley...could be a nice differential, even if he has not done much this year.

Have done Aguero to Kane and Redmond to Hazard for a -4. How much rotation is there normally around Christmas? Would having 8 good attackers be normal to have over such a period? Have De Roon as a fifth mid but 2 million in the bank.

I could go -8 to get someone for the period who will play and would be expected to vie for attacking returns. He'd also play in the coming gameweek ahead of Phillips who I have but who is away to Chelsea this week. Or should I save it for when injuries/expected rotation actually hit?

I wouldn't. Austin at home to Boro Sunday and he's in decent form bar last week.

Guardiola is too risky and mightn't even start Iheanacho. KDB, as expensive as he is IMO the only City player worth banking on for returns

I'd hold anyway, especially with CL and EL games to come. Phillips is in form as well so I would keep him. Who were you going to get? Would they get 4 more points than Phillips this wkd?

Fair point. Zaha would be top of the list. Palace the joint 5th scorers in league with Tottenham. They're playing Hull. He'd have the best chance of making it worthwhile. Though I've already Benteke.

Not worth it in my opinion when you already have Benteke

Right. I did not expect Aguero to get a 4 games ban so got Matic in last GW (have Hazard & Alonso too). My team value is crap so I figured he was decent value. But now Costa comes back into the equation considering his form and Chelsea fixtures. That means Matic out.

I have £7.4m to spend with Hazard, Sanchez, Siggy & De Roon in midfield. Kane Aguero->Costa Austin upfront. I don't have any 'Pool player anymore (had Coutinho). I can only afford Lallana or Milner. Or Can. Just not sure how nailed the latter is. Is Lallana really the best pick of them all? Would I be mad to stay away from 'Pool during Coutinho absence?

    Aguero - > kane, done
    Lukaku - > Iheanacho
    Gundogan - > hazard

The second two for a - 4. Worth it?

Just done Walcott, Capoue, Aguero out, Sanchez, Son and Iheanacho in. Played my WC instead of taking the -8.

What's the rest of your team? I'd have taken the hit

He only has another 4 or 5 gws to use the wildcard though.
