Iheanacho: "I have the responsibility now to be the striker in the team and replace Sergio for four games." #MCFC

May get him next week for Austin yet.

aguero to iheanacho and capoue to hazard done. My 9th points hit of the season. Happy to go with a strong front 8 till the new year.

I think I have to give Austin a chance home to Boro despite their defence being good. Ihenacio could make hay vs Leicester although they are much better at home most of the time.

After that Austin has Stoke(a), Bournemouth(a) and Spurs(h).

Ihenaco has Wat (h), Arsenal (h) and Hull (a). 2 great fixtures and they can score vs anyone at home. And now some more confidence he's pretty nailed.

From next week depending on how the respective teams look form wise this weekend that switch could be worth my weekly points hit! :)

PS: If Sterling is fully fit and starts this weekend he could be a sneaky City option too. Has prospered in Agueros abscence before.

Deeney > Itchy Nachos would mean I could upgrade Fletcher to Walcott and have a strong front 8 over the festive period... not sure if it would be worth a -8 though (already did Kun > Costa)

    Get Perez in

Any other year and Nachoman would have replaced Aguero already.

But I've just done Aguero -> Costa :o

    Likewise.
What are the chances Costa gets that 5th yellow this weekend now?

He seems to have calmed down considerably since he picked up his fourth yellow. I think Conte might've had a talk with him to curb his antics and he's listened. I think he could see out the rest of these next few games without getting that booking. I've never seen him this well behaved before.

Right. I did not expect Aguero to get a 4 games ban so got Matic in last GW (have Hazard & Alonso too). My team value is crap so I figured he was decent value. But now Costa comes back into the equation considering his form and Chelsea fixtures. That means Matic out.

I have £7.4m to spend with Hazard, Sanchez, Siggy & De Roon in midfield. Kane Aguero->Costa Austin upfront. I don't have any 'Pool player anymore (had Coutinho). I can only afford Lallana or Milner. Or Can. Just not sure how nailed the latter is. Is Lallana really the best pick of them all? Would I be mad to stay away from 'Pool during Coutinho absence?
    Any opinions?

Is Lallana the standout option in sub £8m 'Pool mid? Is he fit enough?

Lallana is nailed on starter when fit. He got some minutes at the weekend and I think he'll start against West Ham. He probably won't get the full 90 though.

    Aguero to Costa done Saturday,
Holebas to Alonso done earlier for 1st -4,
Considering Austin to Ihenacho for a further -4....worth the extra hit? I have no other City players which makes me nervous and -8s seems all the rage.

I wouldn't. Austin at home to Boro Sunday and he's in decent form bar last week.

Guardiola is too risky and mightn't even start Iheanacho. KDB, as expensive as he is IMO the only City player worth banking on for returns

Your cautious words may fall on deaf ears here...playing Boro is not a great fixture, whereas Leicester is possibly one of the best fixtures for a striker right now...they have conceded 2 goals in each of their last 4 PL games, which were v West Borm, Watford, Boro and Sunderland. City could do serious damage on Saturday.

From a hits point of view, I will definitely want Iheanacho in the week after v Watford and I still have Snodgrass who gets one more chance as they face Palace at home, but he will have to go the week after. So I either take the hit this week or next on Iheanacho and I'm strongly leaning towards this week.

Lads, KDB was not in the City squad last night, does anyone know why?

Result didn't matter. They were finishing 2nd, no matter what, so he rested players.

Edit - that said I really really wanted to get KDB in for Aguero but I'm finished with City. Pep is just too random for my liking.

I've done a -4 already, as have most, but I'm really tempted by Alli. I think he's bang on now after that injury and has been taking up some great positions.

I have the exact amount to get him in for Walcott but I'm reluctant to take the hit. But it's really only one hit innit cause everybody will be taking at least one to spend the Aguero money right ?

I also think the Ox is the cheap way into the Arsenal midfield now. Looks fit again and playing some good stuff. Head and shoulders above Walcott. I think the Ox will help me get Aguero back in (have yet to decide if I want to) and also keep Kane or Costa.

Edit - on Aguero, what are people thinking. Is he still Mr essential ? I have Sanchez, Hazard, Firmino, Kane and Costa without him. Team feels good without him but can they cover Aguero and his points is the big question.

Ox played well but isn't nailed, he'll rotate a lot with Iwobi, Perez, Ramsey, Walcott over the festive fixtures

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

My two current dilemmas are Austin vs Nacho (thanks for the analysis @FHFC) and Ibra vs. Kane. After United, Spurs have two absolute plum fixtures, but after those two it's Ibra's turn for two great ones. I have Eriksen for Spurs coverage, but I'm not sure I could live with the Kane fear for consecutive GWs versus Burnley & Hull at home.

My "sensible" -8 last week was....

Gundog (2) and Deeney (4) out for Walcott (3) and Austin (1).

I'd be 10 points better off if I'd done nothing

Mine involves Aguero, Sterling and Barragan going out so makes it a lot harder for it to go too wrong!

Kane to Ibra after the 2 next GW's? (if you can afford it) that's what I will be doing.

Well, 'Pool fans or people who have seen many of their games should be able to enlighten me about Lallana's worthiness (compared to Milner and/or Can). They should also have a much better opinion than myself about Coutinho's absence importance. Like is it still "essential" to have 'Pool mid cover?

The same people may have read/heard of/seen comments from Klopp about Lallana's fitness. He came on for 20 min at the week-end. Last time he came back from injury he only played about half an hour the second game before getting 60+ to full games. Klopp may have hinted that he'll manage him the same or that he's ready to start.

Its like being pregnant. You're either nailed or you're not. :D

A player who may get rested, dropped or subbed early is no use to you in FPL, especially coming up to Christmas.

Leicester are rubbish, but they still have a decent home defensive record in the PL. Here's a great analysis comparing the home and away defences http://fplbet.com/2016/premier-league-home-away-best-defence/ and they are ranked 6th best.

Yes, they have conceded 2 in each of their last homes games but before that they had conceded only 2 goals in 5 at home, 1 each vs Palace and Swansea in games they won, and clean sheets vs Southampton, Burnley and Arsenal.

For away defences they were ranked second worse in the league in that article and that may be colouring thinking a little.

If City and Ihenaco look sharp and Austin and Soton continue to look sluggish going forward I'll be very likley to to get Nacho for Watford.

Well, as long as so many other premium but way cheaper players are performing more consistently than himself, Aguero is no longer needed in your team. And with such a team you have, Aguero will add nothing to it. You have 5 players that are capable of matching his big returns. Getting Aguero in would mean dropping one (or 2) of them and/or downgrading elsewhere.

As I said in another post recently and as I had observed a while back too, Guardiola started so well we all thought it was going to be easy (one of Kun or KDB + Sterling and collect the points from City firepower). Thing is the "machine" is broken. And Guardiola is no magician. Like Klopp last year, he'll need time to build his team around an efficient core of players. Last year, guessing which 'Pool mid was the real deal was a nightmare with all the rotation. Guardiola doesn't rotate as much (yet, 'cause it's still pretty early in the season) but he's trying different things. A bit like Klopp did. We'll see the results in a couple of months (or next year). But so far, none of City players seem worth their price tag (watch them crush Leicester at the week-end now :p).

And we'll quickly have to see how Gabriel Jesus' arrival will affect Aguero's gametime too...

The turn in their defensive forutnes (home and away) has also coincided with losing Schmeichel, who I believe will still be out next week.

Probably have to take a hit again this week. Defence is a mess with Daniels & Jagielka bench fodder.
    Joe Allen not guaranteed.
And have to transfer Kun. And Costa flagged. And the rest!

Took a -8 on Sunday to catch the risers. Not too worried as most will be taking hits this week.

    Allen to Sanchez
    Kun to Defoe
    Holebas to Alonso
