Saw that. Shows the integrity and ethics behind websites such as these.

I remember when that Lovin Dublin website first started he used to post recipes but he'd write stuff like "pour in a **** load of cream". Some of the dishes looked quite nice so I left a comment asking if there was any chance he could give actual measures for them. He replied "I could yeah but I don't want to. "

There was also the time he threw a strop over something and wrote an open letter type thing saying how successful he had been and how he could have left Ireland for San Francisco or wherever years ago but he was so kind to stay here and help others and blah blah blah.

    What a ****e bag basically.

That wasn't even a contest. They lined up a handy opponent to get the hype moving.

Her opponent was utterly useless but they were saying during the fight that it's very difficult to find sparring partners for her so it may be we see her doing a lot of those

Started watching something called The Expanse - seems vaguely interesting so far. Netflix is churning out stuff at a phenomenal rate these days.

Made by Sci Fi not netflix!

Ah ok. They are somewhat liberal with the use of the "Netflix Original" tag it seems. Looks like slightly higher quality than the SciFi stuff I've seen to be honest.

I get that too. I'm fairly sure I won't bother with the Song of Ice and Fire books at this point...

The expanse is scifi's attempt at legitimacy and in fairness it's a good show with a terrific cast. At times it was trying a bit hard but I'll absolutely watch season 2. It's a great idea and with more refined writing it could have been top drawer.

Still well worth it. Get the audiobook and listen while you train. That's how I got through them.

The books the expanse is based on are actually written by a pair of chaps who are linked to George R R Martin, think they might have edited some of his work or something like that.

The problem is the first season of the show ends before the first book, so I have to wait for the 2nd season of the show and I already know what'll happen so its harder to get excited. Books get a bit crazy though so I'm looking forward to it.

I can't figure out what they manage to claim is a Netflix original and what isn't. If they're the first streaming service to show something I wonder? It's hard to see how they can claim this show is an original when it has already aired somewhere else.

Anyway I enjoyed it. Looking forward to season 2. I think Black Sails is back early next year and I am a sucker for nautically themed stuff.

It's a regional think. If it hasn't been shown locally they claim it as a netflix original. They have a different term for netflix specific content.

They put "Netflix Original" on things they make themselves, like the Marvel ones or Stranger Things. They also put it on things they have exclusive distribution rights for, like The Fundamentals of Caring, The Expanse or Shooter, just to name a few. In the US they have it on some BBC shows.

Makes sense. It's impossible to tell what's actually original and what's just distribution rights here in Switz. No distinction between this and Daredevil for example.

SciFi took on the last couple seasons of Stargate didn't they? That aside i only know them for fairly cheap cheesy stuff.

This gives you a bit of an idea of Netflix "Original" content.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_original_programs_distributed_by_Netflix#Exclusive_international_television_distribution

You can see towards the bottom what's distribution rather than production.

I'm a few episodes behind but it's fascinating stuff so far. I'm up to the episode with the cabin in the woods. So is that 2 behind????

I couldn't stick with Westworld. It reminds me too much of Lost and The Leftovers. There are far too many questions being asked without any explanation leaving an irritating mysterious air throughout. Almost every character is creepy and unrelatable.

Two or three anyway. I think that's the episode the show starts answering questions instead of asking them.

Yeah there was a definite shift in that direction anyway. Hoping to catch up properly in the next day or two.
