Pathetic, populist, unfunny, lowest common denominator rubbish.

Superb editing, superb filming, and a superb off the cuff monologue from the host there.....worth more than any US President's salary.

It just oozes professionalism, doesn't it?

More like Duffy would take that as compliment and wouldn't see the sarcasm in it at all coz that's how c far c out of touch with reality he is

No, he's not.....he drops in occassionally to tell us all (but one person in particular, me) how immature and childish we all are. I have often asked him why he bothers visiting and posting if he hates the thread so much but he still returns so to speak.....

De BIG question of de day dat needs to be answered is: ware was de red velour waistcoat so to speak?

Getting an additional sheet of waistcoat fabric installed in it for the Christmas Eve show, it's a little like this so to speak for the Ned Kelly expansion fitting...

The waistcoat thing really is not a good look ,would one if the three twins or their friends or someone not sit him down for an 'intervention'?,once that's sorted then tackle the nipple clamp and death/disease fetish ..baby steps .

Very sad this morning to hear about the death of another of Joe's idols, Fidel Castro. A great man, who adopted those same socialist ideals principles that Joe himself would adopt for his own life........ up until the age of about 35, when he realised just how much money RTE were prepared to shovel his way.

whatever about CASTRO, Joe is the epitome of the proverbial 'smoked -salmon socialist' complete with the pot belly and tasteless bling ,Orwell's Animal Farm comes to mind .

O Leary wants Communist RTE broken up

Expect a childish anti Ryanair story at 1 45 Monday with sly cowardly digs at their "madman"CEO

He's conflicted. On one hand one of his idols did doyed; on de udder, he can talk about DEATH again. He's hoping by Monday there'll be much more details about the final moments, and hopefully some insight into de pain and de sufferin' and dat.

O Leary wants Communist RTE broken up

Expect a childish anti Ryanair story at 1 45 Monday with sly cowardly digs at their "madman"CEO

A few years back, there was some sort of kerfuffle with Ryanair. Joe spent the whole programme rattling on about Ryanair and WHOy, WHOY, WHOY, won't MO'L come on and speak, so to speak to the ordinary people.

Ryanair kept saying he's in a meeting.

At about 2:56 O'Leary phones in, is put straight through to the highly surprised Joe Duffy and O'leary held a 4 minute monologue giving his sole side, ignoring Joe and the other callers. Joe was couaght on the hop and overawed that somebody of the stature of O'Leary would listen to LL let alone call in to it and let him ramble on. Perfect ambush by O'Leary, job done.

Now that I think about it, it was about Ryanair using building 6 out in the airport to service and maintain planes and the subsequent loss of jobs in SRS. O'Leary was essentially telling people he'd keep their jobs when he had no intention of doing so.

MO'L, Joe Duffy, Shane Ross. I can never work out which of the three I hate the most. Populist bullshltters the lot of them.

But we are childish! And immature, too.

Nothing that is written here is going to appear in an Irish Times editorial or in a journal of philosophical enquiry. It's supposed to be amusing, maybe a bit mischievous, and yes, sometimes immature.

Otherwise, we'd all be zonked-out on anti-depressants listening to that buffoon and his ghoulish obsessions.

Of course there are serious aspects to it (flagrant waste of public money...) but there's nothing wrong with a bit of harmless, good-humoured contempt for the world's highest paid telephone operator.

There's no way you can put O'Leary with the other two. MOL creates jobs, business, tourism and on and on.

Ah now in fairness Joe creates jobs too.....for German bukeprinters for starters, and there's dozens of people employed to keep Da Lahv lahn on the road - 3God knows how many producers at this stage, a "team" of researchers, De FunnyFryday Crew (indirectly), de sound men/women, de cleaners etc.; the latter all at de expense of de taxpayer.

Actually maybe "creates" might be the wrong word; "necessitates" might be more accurate.

Whatever you think of his methods O Leary got us off the boat to holyhead and gave us keys to Europe

O'Leary quoted today as saying that "RTE is a rat infested union shop and should be disbanded".
I expect JD is in a simmering rage, already getting his sly, muttering "ad-lib" digs and asides towards Ryanair jotted down and ready for broadcast next week.
    Listener driven show.....
