Is the g4 play up to much? (amazon uk doing it for £119.95)

    1GB Ram. G3 2GB/16GB would be better.

Both the G3 and the G4 Play come in 1GB-8GB and 2GB-16GB versions.

Though not at 119. An alternative would be the Wiley Swift which is 99.

The Wiley Swift 2 is out now though.

I know it's not in Ireland but I got this case.

    http://www.phonenatic.de/smartphone_accessories/motorola/moto_g4/silicone_case_for_motorola_moto_g4_x-style_black_i580_19045_0.htm

It's very good for €4.99 delivered. I received it about 3 days after I ordered it.

Have fone a while, going good, but....

Apps are saving in internal memory with no option to save to sd. Have sd set up as internal, and it is visible.

Amy way of moving them to sd?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,648 ✭✭✭✭beauf

I think control panel / apps will give you the option to move some apps. But not all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,476 ✭✭✭vandriver

Go into app info and touch storage. On some apps the option to move comes up

Am in the market for a Moto G4 Plus, it is €220 or so on Amazon.

What is the lowest price it has dropped to?

If anyone happens to see a good deal, I would appreciate a heads up.

    Thanks.

But both of them take an SD card?

As far as I know, the dual sim uses the micro sd slot for the second sim.

So on the dual sim phone so you can only have 2 sims or 1 sim and a SD card.

The single sim phone its obviously 1 sim and a SD card.

Lads, I am very close to pushing the buy button on amazon for this. I have an old samsung nexus (for approx 4 years) that is about to give up and in anticipation of being without a phone I am being a bit proactive,

Am I missing anything obvious? It seems like a great purchase for the money? I am going for the G4+. Dual sim not an issue for me. Everything else seems like it will be on a par if not better than my nexus?

Went from Nexus 5 to single sim black G4 and couldnt be happier.

    Incredible value.

Only things missing are OIS (image stabilization on the camera) magnetometer (no compass) and no NFC. I'd have preferred if it has been 5" the 5.5" is a tiny bit too big for me.

    Otherwise its been excellent.

I've been using my G4 for about 3 months now and it's a great phone.

    Had a Samsung note 2
    Got one in July.
    Only issue I have.
Volume and power button on same side. This means the volume is close to the centre of the phone which interferes with cradles etc.

I was going to go for the plus but at the time it was 320 for the one I wanted.. got the g4 in Argos for 180

    Go for it.

I have the custom black 32GB dual sim from Motorola UK direct - but I could not be happier with this phone. Pick yourself up the Kapaver case, and the Nilkin tempered glass. I had both of those before the phone, so as soon as I took off the protective plastic screen cover I was able to put on the tempered glass.

Check GSM arena to compare specifications with your old phone.

What price did you pay for the 32GB?
Any hassle getting it delivered here?
Where can that case and glass be purchased?
    Thank's.

Yes, major, major hassle, though someone else who posted earlier in this thread seems to have been able to get it through. I tried ordering maybe 7 or 8 times, using Parcel Motel, DPD, some other company. It seems Motorola have blacklisted all of the mail forwarding companies because they do not want to deal with refunds across borders. I followed the instructions from the poster that managed to get theirs through, by say removing my PMID number from the address, or putting it in as the company name. I tried similar for the other companies, trying to disguise the fact it was going to a mailbox but it would just not go through, and you have to wait between a few hours and a few days for the order to be cancelled and you are not given a reason unless you call them. Also, if you pay by credit card and not PayPal you have to wait a few days for the money to go back on your card. Eventually I asked a guy at work if I could send it to his UK address, and he then sent it on to me.

Basically, if you know someone in the UK that will forward it to you I would recommend you do - you get the black version (or any of the custom colours), dual sim, and 32GB for £239. I think you can also order from Amazon Spain, but it is more expensive and/or not exactly the same, not sure what the difference was now. I would not waste your time, as I did, trying to order it here from Motorola UK using Parcel Motel etc.

Moto G4 Case, KAPAVER [ Moto G4 Plus ] Tough Rugged Case Cover - Solid Black Shock Proof Bumper Case

Nillkin Amazing H - 0,3mm Tempered Glass 9H Screen Protector for Motorola Moto G4 Plus

I even put the TGSP on at a slight angle, but I was able to remove it carefully, and reapply, and there are still no air bubbles or rainbow colour marks etc. You can only tell there is a protector on it from the cutouts for the speaker etc. Both case and protector fit the Moto G4 Plus like a glove.

If you have decided to go with the Moto G4 Plus, I would not delay ordering the case and TGSP, because I know if my phone had arrived first I would have been very tempted to start using the phone while waiting on those to arrive.

Looking for bit of navel gazing ............. anyone with experience of tracking these things think the g4 will go below €180 in the next 6 to 8 weeks?
Or alternatively that the g4 plus will drop

Well, ye persuaded me. My Samsung is on its way out at the moment, so I've ordered the
    32 GB Moto G4 plus from amazon : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LSCSU7S/

I have a 32gb card for the S5, which I'm pretty sure I also had with my previous phone as well. Would I be as well to get a new one? Bigger one? Don't do much gaming or anything like that so I figure that the G4's memory & 32gb should be loads.

Anyone ordering the G4+ from Motorola. co.uk, get £10 with promo code UKWELCOME10

arghh. Love my Moto G4 which is only 3 months old but all of a sudden the SIM no longer detects. Ordered a new SIM from Vodafone and it does not work and tried old and new SIMs in a different phone and the work fine. Also did a factory reset.

Just called Amazon and they need me to call Motorola to get it repaired as they said it is a known issue with these phones.

    Anyone else had this problem?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,648 ✭✭✭✭beauf

Mine very rarely can't see the sim or the SD card. I was wondering was it the start of problem.

I don't think I will use the SD card as memory anymore, (I'll just use it as storage). As I think it was killing the SD cards on a few different phones we have.

Was your intermittent, or did it just stop working. When it has happened to mine I took out sim and sd card, and re-inserted them a few times and rebooted a couple of times. Then it came back. Happened 2 or 3 times.

nope - it just stopped working. I rebooted and re-inserted the SIM a load of times and also did a factory reset. I just ordered another new Moto G4 from Amazon (£152.73) which will be here on Friday so I have a work phone while the old one is at Motorola getting repaired.
