How many on here do the Euromillions?

Just checked my Euromillions ticket and had one number....

I know a couple of people who have won small amounts on it but since the changes came in a while back i can go weeks without having any numbers at all. I know if you're not in you can't win and all that but to rarely ever even have one number is annoying.

Actually, last week i got the two bonus numbers which of course got me fck all!

No but I'm convinced I'm going to win it

Likely my only opportunity to become a millionaire and I very rarely do it. I did win €11 last week but that's to be split :pac:

Waste of money, the odds of winning are astronomical.

No chance. I only ever do one line, 2 lines on very high amounts.

Am i better off picking the numbers myself or sticking with the quick pick?

    About 6/1 by my calculations

For my sins I do it once a week. When I first started about a year ago I often won small prizes .. 4, 6 or 8 euro, and once €50 but again since the recent changes I haven't won a thing.

Never pick yourself, always quick pick and ALWAYS do the plus. If you don't do your numbers and your numbers are drawn you may jump off a bridge. No coming back from that.

Just a quick calculation in my head ...
250 million to 1 chance of winning, is that correct ?

At least it's something - an odd small win every now and then would keep me happy.

I actually did win on a local raffle. Randomly decided to throw €2 into an envelope mainly to support a charity and few days later had a call to say i'd won €500! Forgot i'd even done it! Maybe that took up all my luck!

I once broke my ankle by falling off a toilet. Things that have a million to one chances of happening tend to happen to me. All I need to do is do it

Every now and again, usually when it's heading for 100m!

Is that for the main draw? I'm not even aiming that high. That only brings extra hassle like family fighting, getting robbed and all that. 20k would make my year!!

Chances of getting 5+2 the jackpot

I was close worth that guess of 125 million to 1

Yeah true. Jesus, could you imagine :o

Whenever i read of lottery wins that haven't been collected i start getting paranoid it's me and i just haven't checked my numbers correctly. A couple of weeks ago there was a story of 250k not being picked up yet and it was getting to the end of the 90 days - wonder if it was.

Despite being a Europhile, I despise the Euromillions lottery. I have no idea why.

Did it tonight, got an email to check my account, the excitement!

I won €5 so I'm -€9 better off then when I played, still have Friday to make back that €9

I spend €24 per week on the Lotto and Euromillions. It's the only thing keeping me going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭mud

I don't play myself but I do sell Lotto tickets in a shop so I'm hoping a customer will win and then give me nice things for being the person who happened to serve them :pac:

Pity it seems to have changed. Was considering doing in online the odd time from abroad. A few Euro for some quality daydreaming.

I do it when it's something like €100 mil, otherwise no.

My mother used to spend a fortune on lotto every week in the hope that she'd finally be comfortable :(

    It's nothing but a fool's tax.
Statistically there is a higher chance of finding that sort of money in a ditch.

Did it once. Now I just invest the money instead.

    Food or electricity usually. :)

No one would leave over 10m in a ditch

OP have you checked the odds of winning, might explain why you don't win.

People's logic on this makes me laugh.

A job I was in previously had a guy was obsessed with the lotto. He got 14 of us all to contribute €2 each for a synidcate as the Irish jackpot was over €10m.

Next morning he came bouncing in saying: '"We won €10 last night", and I said no 'We lost €18'", he thought I was going on ridiculous.

Unless you win, then it's a 1 in 1 chance.

People know they almost certainly won't win.. But we know that someone eventually does. And a lot of us just pay the few euro for a daydream.

If that's funny, then so be it.
