Do bears **** in the woods?

So you have no problem with him going back on most the promises he made during the campaign? Did you vote for him?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,949 ✭✭✭ChikiChiki

Why would Trump go after Clinton? Her reputation is in the dirt now, she is finished as a political opponent now and the future. He beat her easily and did it by running the greatest political maneuvering I have ever seen.

I'm sorry but wtf is this bull****. It was one of his core promises he repeated time and time again. Are you seriously saying it's alright to lie to the electorate to win votes? Surely you can't defend that. It's morally wrong.

Can I ask the good people on here something.

How many Sanders supporters actually went out and voted ?

It appears climate change isn't a "hoax" after all.
President-elect Donald Trump says there's "some connectivity" between humans and climate change.

He tells The New York Times on Tuesday that "clean air is vitally important" and he's keeping an open mind about whether to pull the United States out of a multinational agreement on climate change.

Well some of the people who voted for him are KKK supporters and Trump has no respect for them so not giving them word in would bust his reputation. He doesn't have to do all the biding of his voters. He has a get out of jail free card on that.

The U turns continue. He seems adamant on pulling out of the trans Pacific trade deal though

I never heard of a politician making false promises. Said nobody ever.

Obviously it happens all the time but to begin rowing back on multiple promises 2 weeks after the election and dismiss them so easily is a fooking kick in the stones to the electorate. I'm sure it will anger many.

He has very mildly come out against the various openly racist groups that support him. Not sure how he gets a free pass on not even trying any of the things he said he would do (not just voters expect but he promised).

Of course now he is a politician after months of hearing how great he was because he was outside the political establishment.

In fairness to trump after he won he did come out and say he was going to be a president for all Americans, or something to that effect. He can't just pander to the people who voted for him. Apparently he's even been meeting with democrats he's considering for cabinet positions.

I see Obama is currently at White House handing out medals of Freedom to celebrities , all of whom opposed Trump
    De Niro
    Ellen
    Tom Hanks
    Bruce Springteen
    It's like a Trump Hate party .

Trump taunted Mexicans, Blacks and Muslims more then any anyone. I can't believe people are ignoring what this guy said to win an election. He caused lot of the anger we see today across America.

We are not going to last past 4 years of Trump unscathed. Economic issues aside and the fears we have here. I still think Trump foreign policy will be a disaster.

The (Obama) American- Iran deal is not going to last long. Trump will likely get rid of that when hes president for real So we are going to end up seeing renewed threats to bomb Iran next year and Israel pushing that agenda. This potentially could turn nasty fast as Russia and Iran are friendly partners. Will Trump force Mexico to pay for a wall across the border of the Texas and New Mexico? People speak about Putin and Trump and say they are friendly. Look only takes one bad decision by either party to start a new foreign crisis and Trump has shown hes temperament is fragile just on Twitter, so i have doubts he can negotiate effectively and rationally when time comes.

Trump relationship with China will not be good. Fighting a trade war with China. Chinese will see Trump as a hostile partner and will start looking to secure its interests even more in the China South seas and around the Pacific Rim.

And how the hell is he going to stop Isis for good. Raqqa is inside Syria and you can't retake it without fighting street to street and there is no force on the ground strong enough to retake it.. What happens if Trump sends ground troops into Syria. Will he send ground troops to other states in the middle east that safe haven Isis followers?

How do you equate someone referring to the runner-up in the US Presidential elections as "Bill's wife" with racial slurs against Michelle Obama?

The slurs against Michelle Obama were blatant and horrible and fortunately, anyone that isn't completely blind can see that they are beyond the pale. The slur against Clinton by referring to a presidential nominee and power in her own right as "Bill's wife" by people who couldn't even bear to use her name was an interesting insight in how their minds work.

Same people who persisted in saying that the only reason she got anywhere was because she was "Bill's wife". It was a petty little attempt to delegitimise her as a serious candidate.

Sounds ridiculous and impossibly petty? Of course it was. But there's a lot of ridiculous and petty people out there.

It's a very minor thing amongst all the rest, mind you.

Funny how he stolen so many of Hillary votes among those groups.

Funny how he stolen so many of Hillary votes among those groups.

Because "Mexicans, Blacks and Muslims" are, ofc, a hive mind and vote as a bloc.

Although his voter turnout amongst those demographics weren't particularly high.

Funny how he stolen so many of Hillary votes among those groups.

Remember people if a black person voted for you you can't be racist!

Your logic is terrible. Argue why his various statements don't insult those groups by referencing directly if you can but I am guessing you avoided it because you can't argue it directly as those statements were clear as day.

The fact that some in those groups had other reasons to vote Trump (religion, party membership, bay of pigs etc.) Does not make him not a terrible person towards those groups.

So the whole "draw the swamp" thing was drain it, and then fill it up with our own brand of swamp water. Trump the politician is the same as the rest of the politicians. Say what you need to get elected, then abandon everything you said to get you there. For once though, it's a good thing.

Only problem for him now will be all the pissed off, gun toting far-right wing people who will watch him go back on everything he promised them.

I've been known on occasion to call the runner up in the race for the White House "Bill's wife" but I am most certainly not racist and never said anything derogatory against the Obamas. The racism card will soon lose all its meaning as it's being massively overused nowadays.

I neither referred to the racism part of the equation nor was particularly talking about it. Maybe I didn't make that clear enough, although in retrospect, are you really suggesting that calling a black woman an "ape in heels" isn't racist, given the whole weird thing for calling black people specifically various types of primates? That was a pretty darn racist comment from the woman who said it (a mayor of somewhere, I think.)

No, what I was referring to was the disrespect shown to both. What was said about Michelle Obama was obviously a lot worse, but there's something deviously derogatory about referring to Clinton that way - not as a one-off, or specifically talking about her in her life as a married partner, but referring to her that way while talking about her political career. I don't quite know how you used it or when, but I recall one post (and I don't recall who posted it) a few pages back where the entire post, referring to Clinton a few times in it, consistently called her "Bill's wife" as if that was the only thing of note about her. It is disrespectful. It's part of the casual loss of decency.

Having said all that, I have absolutely referred to Trump on a number of occasions as a tangerine nitwit. But I never took a dig at Melania just because she's his wife. I never took a dig at Trump merely for being male, or being white (I have taken a dig at him for being orange, but at least his orangocity is his own choice!)

The racism aspect is not the same, unless 'Bill's wife' has been classed as a new race, and I think I'd have heard about it if so! I'm purely talking about the casual disregarding of a public figure and a pretty pre-eminent politician* these days as merely "someone's wife". At least let people have the decency to have a go at her for her personal choices and beliefs. Like her, hate her or merely tolerate her, she's a lot more than just a wife of someone.

*Well, up until November 8th; I don't see her making much of a come-back after this defeat.

Of course I agree that the "ape in heels" was hugely racist. That's not what I'm referring to. What I am referring to is some people try to play the racism card if someone claims that Obama has been a very average US President.
By the way, I have zero respect for Bill's wife and it has nothing to do with her being female. She is a vile, evil and massively corrupt human being.

Tbh, the main references I saw to Obama being black was a few people trying to claim that the only reason anyone might think he was a decent president is because he's black, as opposed to what he's done and tried to do against pretty high odds. The dismissal of opinions with a bizarre ("everyone would think he was rubbish if he was white, it's only because leftists play the race card!", as if this "leftist" conspiracy can't read or making up their own mind without reference to his skin colour, for heaven's sake.) put-down is one of the dumber arguments going around out there and god knows, there's plenty to choose from!

Aighto, I get you have no respect for her. It's just a very ..off way of showing it. I guess it's subjective, I personally think it disrespectful and unpleasant and, honestly, reflects more on the speaker than the person being spoken about thus, but I grant this will hardly be a universal opinion.

It's interesting that you're still obsessed with Obama, Clinton and the election campaign rather than paying much of any attention on what you want Trump to deliver in his presidency, by the way.

Trump Foundation has admitted to breaking the law including self-dealing.

Wonder how his supporters will spin this now they can't go bring up the Clinton Foundation (zero evidence it has broken the law) and it is irrelevant now he is president elect.
