    Apparently a trick some people use is to cancel the monthly direct debits when the insurance company send out the disc.

    Gardai already have dashboard technology to automatically detect cars that aren't taxed, the sooner that extends to insurance, the better.

    They originally had data from the inshurdance companies given to them daily on what cars were inshured and what were not but the data was inreliable so as far as I know is no longer given.

    They use standard cabinets and things so that when the tennants wreck them they have standard size parts to replace them, works out cheaper in the long run than having a carpenter working on individual spec.
