That's a Bull**** Story. You are given plenty of reminders and notice from an Insurance company that your insurance is up for renewal.

I wonder what Joe's compensation was when he was run over or is this the reason why all insurance quotes have gone up to pay for Joe's compensation? :)

    I'd give a rough estimate of 200k.

"I didn't know that my insurance was up"

    As you do, says Joe.

    Really?
How do you forget you get the letter with the quote and you get a reminder?
Denis crushing cars now when they are a couple of hours out of insurance. :)

I get notification a month before my insurance is due for renewal - both by post and email. Every company has done this for years, at least in my dealings with them.
Often, there's a phone call as an additional reminder, from some other insco / broker hoping to get me as a new customer.

If only there was an insurance disc on the front of your car that would show the exact date where your insurance expired, you could see it every time you entered the car. There could also be a law where the insurer must send you out a no claims bonus declaration with your quote.

They might even send you a note telling your insurance was up for renewal on a certain date

7 hours but he said he didn't know it was out. So how long would he have left it run? No grace period with motor insurance

Gardaí can seize a car with no insurance, letting you drive home would be wreckless.

His friends drive without insurance too.

A few minutes ago, it was unthinkable that anyone would ever get into the car without insurance.

Now it's 'common sense' to overlook such behaviour.

Don't drive without insurance you thick.

Yes they do with the no claims reminder. Last time mine was up for renewal I got the letter about 6 weeks before, then got a weekly email reminding me.

Don't be stupid that would make the story sound reasonable

There will be no wrecks if they take the car, that's for sure. :)

The Garda did the state a service seizing the car, this guy talks to Joe, you can bet there's plenty of listeners checking their insurance disc today if it's near expiry.
