Angle grinder and welder getting plenty abuse the last few days here, I definitely need to get going at the PM soon also, I want to get a handle on what sort of tax bill I will have next November, and if I need to do anything about it before the end of this year ha. Any troublemakers or poor yielders in the parlour are getting dried off without a 2nd thought now, I'd be tempted by OAD but it would prb come back to bit me in late Jan with the liquid, plus my dad would probably have a heart attack ha.

My biggest problem with a feeder is you need a second tractor / loader. Atm I've a good tractor & loader that I keep fresh. Have a quad for fertiliser and a a small tractor that started about 5 times this year, usually because it was in the way. Drop the loader in minutes and can do all the work I need it to, loader on it feeds everything in the sheds etc. Even to get a tub feeder cheap prob talking 10k+ (guess, feel free to correct me), your definitely talking another 15 / 30 k to have the tractor to drive it for mixing it & in most instance your still going to be buying in your beet etc. As much as I would fail to see a fault in what they are doing its hard to justify the expense at the same time!

are the diet feeders with their own engines very expensive, have seen a few on farms,
I'm always amused at two drivers driving around the yard after each other just to feed cattle

http://www.farmersjournal.ie/low-cost-loan-scheme-looks-set-to-be-delayed-236654 - If they wait much longer the price of milk will have picked up and they wont be needed anyway, although this could be their plan all along.

Raised that loan earlier for discussion. For instance, if you borrow 90K. you could pay back circa €33K in years 4,5 and 6.
The interest rate is fine but they really need to be long term loans.

I personally think its a bad idea. Either coop loans or agreed low interest rate loans with the bank would be a better plan, but thats only my 2c worth!

engines to suit them can't be that expensive if someone was handy enough to fit them themselves, it's not as if they'd be a hard worked engine.

Right now I'm definitely finished for the year.:pac:

We might give out about the price of milk (and rightly so).
But the lorry drivers have nothing to do with any of that business.
    So...................
