i say this light heartily, but rationally perhaps correct.

Is this way of thinking not a form of slut shaming?

I've a feeling that everyone has missed the joke in the mad rush to be offended.

It wasn't quite to me, but within my hearing, from my older child to my younger child, who was unhappy about something: "dad will make it better. He always does."

My son said to his friend "My dad would beat your dad up in a fight".

My wife was pregnant on our 2nd child 6 years ago and we got a gift of a 3d/4d scan. She was 4-5 months gone at the time and we agreed we wanted to know the sex if possible.

The 2 of us, our son and the nurse where trying to locate that area and she said there you go , leaving it up to us to realise the sex.

I said, Oh there they are look , clear as day, two little marbles !

The nurse gave it a few seconds and said,

" Well It would be the first girl to have marbles on this screen"

We cried with laughter and joy !

Years ago my then four year old son was walking beside me at an away match my older son was playing in.

To get to where the parents from my club were standing we had to pass opposition parents , players and mentors.

Right at the most opportune moment he stopped and in a hulk type pose ,pointed at me and roared at the opposition " that's my dad ".

Many years ago my nanny was dying - it had been a long time coming and at this stage she had kind of lapsed into a coma, she was unconscious for about 2 days or so - I was unaware at the time as I was off playing Charlie Sheen as I was wont to do at the time.
Eventually I got word and made my way to the house, I went up to her bedroom where she was just lying there, as good as dead for all intents and purposes. My ma was there with her and said i'll leave you to say goodbye, so I sat down beside her, took her hand and gave it a kiss, right at that moment she opened her eyes, turned her head to look at me and said "I've been waiting for you" then she just died right there and then.

    Ah God :(

    Ah Jaysus, that's unreal.

I lost all my grandparents before I was 12. I now look at the relationship my two boys (28 & 24) have with their 4 grandparents and realise I lost out on something pretty unique

    *coughs between the tears*
